57000 miles on a Breva 750

In Moorcroft Wyoming, with 57170 Miles on the Breva 750.
Only ever had 3 problems, so far.
First one, was the bag frame bolt, vibrating loose, dropping the bag on the hot exhaust. that burned through the bottom of the bag, and as the bottle of polish exploded, the spare clutch cable burned out.
So we had to buy a set of Saddlemen bags, in Hurricane UT

On a subsequent trip, in Torrey. UT
I had the rear brake lock up.
Sometimes you get lucky !
As I was looking for a mechanic, in the phone book, the lady in the coffee shop, said
Why don't you folks talk to BIGGIE ?
Well, she gave us the phone nr for the local Mr fixit, and were we ever lucky !
BIGGIE, was some sort of adaptation of an Icelandic name to American.
Anyway, BIGGIE restored old BMWs, and also had a couple of Moto Guzzi's
We worked away for a while, not understanding what had gone wrong with the rear brake system.

Finally we found out that the brake pedal adjuster, had not been LocTited, and had vibrated lose, thus allowing the cylinder to close up.
JEEZ WHY DID MOTOGUZZI HIDE THAT BOLT BEHIND AN ALUMINIUM PLATE ???

OK So now I was touring around Utah, and having fun, around Price, taking photos for the blog, and I noticed oil strips on the rear wheel.
So, momma and I did a google for a MotoGuzzi agent.
We got 2, one was in Albuquerque New Mexico, and the other was in Ft Collins Colorado
Well...
The road to Ft Collins was more of a direct route, with pull outs, here & there,so I used that, to keep an eye on the leak.
Well, having got to beemersandmore.com, One of the staff, a fantastic guy called “ Flash”
loaned me his BMW 650, and I rode it through the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Absolutely BRILL !!
Anyway, I am in Moorcroft Wyoming, heading back East

Anyone Else Got Questions About a BREVA 750 ??????

I really love the V7 Classic. Is it the same basic engine architecture as the Breva? I know for 2013 there were a number of updates to the heads.

The 'old' V7 engine is, I believe, basically identical to the Breva. The 'new' engine has a lot of little changes, and a major one -- a single throttle body instead of dual throttle bodies -- but even if you do your own maintenance you won't see many huge differences. The changes are many but basically incremental improvements.

Yes, that swap to single throttle, is a great improvement.
Mine has about 42 Hp, and supposedly the new tweaks, have boosted the Hp to 50.
I would like to try the new V 7 Stone, to see if I could feel any significant difference.
Take Care Out There

Yours may be 42 to the wheels, and the new one 50 to the crank.
Dynos have shown there isn't more than 3 peak hp gain on the new one, but better economy, more midrange, better ridability, and cheaper maintainance due to the single TB.
Even Honda's new CB1100 has a single TB for a 4 cyl engine.....car technology, for better economy and emissions, when maximum power isn't needed.

I really wanna try one out and see if I can be happy riding a sub 50 hp bike. The retro styling is awesome, and the low seat and light weight make it sound like a great all around go anywhere bike. Simple, clean, shaft drive, and beautiful. I was hot for a Triumph for a while, but almost 100 lbs of extra mass over the Guzzi turns me off. With pipes, the Guzzis sound as horny as any Ducati.
