50th Anniversary YZF-R6 (2006 duh) Will it ever be worth more?

What I'm wondering is if the bike, being the 50th anniversary edition AND carrying a special VIN # to further validate that, will be worth more in the future.

Will it be like a vintage type a thing in 20 years? Or will it be just another bike?

even if the engine doesnt blow up it still wont be worth ****. sorry to burst the special edition/anniversary bubble...

Just another old bike few people want. Put into perspective. When the YZF750 was introduced in 1993, it was state of the art. First mass production bike with USD forks, six-piston front calipers. Closest thing to a full on superbike racer ever offered to the public, expensive. Today you can find them in good condition for under $4000. Same thing will happen to that R6. Special edition will mean nothing in 20 years.

An R7 on the other hand…

Dude your bike cost what maybe $500 more then a regular R6 when you bought it....That extra cost depreciates just like the bike itself does....I would expect to get maybe $200 more over a regular one.....Its just paint and a little metal plate with numbers on it...Unless you find someone that really wants that bike bad, its not that special to the average person

My buddy had the same thought with a championship R6. He thought it was worth so much more then a regular R6 until he found out as Johnny said "Its just paint and a little metal plate with numbers on it"

The '91 ZX7 had USD forks. A 91' ZX7 isn't worth much either. A '91 ZXR750 mind you......

If you're thinking to store this bike instead of using it to somehow make money, I'd probably suggest you sell the bike now because it will just continue to depreciate.

I got a 50th anniversary aswell.
Bought it cause I liked the color scheme.
Not becuase it will hold value.

Bikes/cars/boats/atv's depreciate in value in most cases.
If your looking for an investment, buy a house
