500 lb Hitch Mount Motorcycle/Dirtbike Hauler ($90) @ PrincessAuto

I have one of these. Works awesome with my dirtbike. And worked awesome with my xs400 yammie. Wouldn't trust it with my vstar though
 
It would work fine on my van and my son's Honda moto 450r is too tall to go in the van.
That's one reason.
Also many SUVs would not even notice that weight but are smallish inside
 
It,s easier to roll your bike up the carriers ramp than into your truck. It's easier to strap it in the upright position. You can use your truck to carry other stuff.

My truck is too tall even with my nice curvedramps that the exhaust on my fz6 gets caught on the way up. Impossible for one person to do it by themselves. I can hardly get my mx bike in the truck on my own now. So I would actually use one of these for day triPs to the track so I don't have to pull the trailer.

I used to lift my mx bike in to my truck by myself without ramps until I lifted the truck.
