Hey ladies and gents.
I figure i would drop this in the track section as it is trailer hauling related. Would a 5 by p uhaul trailer fit 2 bikes one a vfr one a zx100? Will they fit side by side?
Thanks
Any tips welcome.
Gary

yes, a 5' trailer should be fine, we pull 2x litre bikes on a 5' trailer with space to spare. The older VFR's are a bit wider, but should still fit. I have my own and don't use uhaul, so I can't comment on them, but a trailer with wheel chocks is best if you have the option.

edit: with a 9' trailer just be cautious of the tounge to axle weigth distribution (depending on what your pulling it with)

Thx smergy. Yes we have wheel chocks although not mounted, is that an issue? I have canyon dancer strap for front and tie down for back, good enough?

Yep, they don't need to be mounted. Your setup sounds perfect.

mounted is better, but not required. at a minimum they prevent the bike from rotating sideways. sounds stupid, but even if a bike is strapped down tight, the wheels can still drift from vibration particularily on a wet or slippery floor like galvanized steel or smooth painted wood, causing the bike to rotate and tip over.

You're gold. I can shoehorn a VFR and a Hayabusa into my 5'x8' trailer.
Tip: tie a knot at the base of the buckle on your straps, whether they be cambuckle, or ratchet.

You guys think a Burgman 650 and a vfr 800 would fit on a 4x8?

With front chocks, probably. Using straps only, the bikes would be VERY close together, no real good angles to anchor for a very solid setup.

I've taken 2 bikes in the bed of my truck 4 x 6.5 for years with no issues.
I've always strapped the out side of the bikes down to the d-rings on the truck and the bikes to each other in the middle.
Works like a charm ;).

That is an excellent idea.......

Freaky solution :)

Tie the outside as you would normally with one bike and I use the trees up front and the pass pegs in the back to tie together.
If you can get to the frame in the back that would be best.
It's pretty simple really.
