- It takes one shell master, 10 hours to make one carbon fiber helmet.
- The same shell master can make 104 regular Corsair V helmets in one day.
- 1/2lb lighter than Corsair V.

Riders Choice had em on display at the show in December... sweet helmet.

Not $4000 sweet, but still.

Apex has sold a few.Weren't carbon helmets proven to be "too stiff" on the race circuit a few years ago?A helmet shell needs a certain amount of give to allow the liner it's compression ability.

In the video, the guy says that Arai figured out a way to make carbon fiber pliable so it can flex! Most other carbon fibers are brittle when bent but this stuff is supposed to retain flexibility so looks like they figured out a way to get around that!

my cousin has one for car racing. Worked out to be around $5k

Then we sanded it all down and painted it for him.......lol

(needed to have it for racing in Europe. FIA approved, etc, etc....)
Some big coin indeed. It was a nice light pretty looking bucket though.

Seems like a waste of $4,000 to me...
Carbon this, carbon that, at the end of the day when your face meets the asphalt, it's all the same.

Tell that to motoGP racers and about 60% of formula one drivers....You cant tell because their helmets are painted over, but that is what they are using...If I was riding a million dollar bike or car, Id probably be wearing a $5000 custom painted carbon helmet too...

People say its a waste of money, but Arai can only make I think it was 350 of those a year, and every year they sell out...You have to order the helmet and its made to order, first come first serve....

Most sites that sell them, have a title like "not for everyone" LOL

Exactly!

That half a pound of weight loss is huge for rider fatigue. Going from my EXO-700 to my Arai RX-Q was phenomenal! I couldn't believe how much more comfortable a more expensive helmet was. I can only imagine this helmet would feel like you're not even wearing one!

I don't blame Arai for one bit.

If they can find off the street suckers to spend the exorbitant cash outlay for this item, then good for Arai. Business is business.

Its a strategy that Apple has employed for years with great success.

And apparently Denon too.....

Pity Arai is just an ugly-shaped helmet.

Hahah! I work in this industry and a Cat6 cable tested with a Fluke that passes will give you 1gbps regardless of what it's made out of.. crazy people buy in to this stuff.

The best are HDMI cables that Monster sells. HDMI is digital! Whether it's a $10 cable or a $200 cable, it sends 1's and 0's!

The carbon fibre used in these helmets, come from the left over rolls from making the A380.....hense the large felxible weave

I think we forget how rich some people are. What's $4000 to some one worth $50 million. It's a exotic item and not for the masses.

$4000.00!!!! No thanks, I would purchase a set of BST wheels WAY before that helmet.
