hard to question peoples faith.... faith is personal, and not always very logical.
The church or any organized religion really is self serving in the bigger scheme of things.

No disrespect but, IMO, this is just another example of human kind's fetish with pain. There's a long and gory history of these kinds of acts from religious and non-religious groups alike. So, while we must give the benefit of the doubt that this is really belief inspired, from the point of view of their own religious leaders they are extremists practicing un-condoned acts.

The Philippines is a very religious country whether you're Catholic or Muslim there. Trust me there's no fetishes there, in Canada we are majority Catholics but how many families here really practice their Catholicism, although they do take it to another level over there lol.

Fetish might've been the wrong word but I get what you're saying. And yea, I was talking about my thoughts on Catholicism with a buddy who is Catholic and he had no idea what I was talking about lol.
