Reading and listening to a lot of people reflecting on 2022. With covid still controlling our lives, i can't blame people for wanting to put the past behind them. But there is so much negativity that makes even little problems worse than they really are.
In 2022 i lost my soulmate after a really difficult battle. Part of me wanted to put it all behind me and lock it away. But it would be wrong to try and forget the fantastic life we had.
2023 will be the start of a new life. Sue will be with me as life carries on in the new direction i find. I'm not going to slow down or cry in my beer. Turning 70 this year means i probably have ten good years left living life the way i like to. That means doing things that not everyone would approve of. I'm not making resolutions. I'll stick to my old tried and true "everything in moderation".
Happy new year everyone. My friend Bernadette and i are going into 2023 and beyond with everything we've got.

That is a great way to look forward toward the future. I saw how devastating it was to lose your partner of so long, but glad you are able to move forward.

Yesterday we buried my good friends mom and we saw the love she felt. 75 people showed up to the celebration of life, and it looked like there were more people in the church than on a regular Sunday.

I hope her widowed husband finds his peace also.

70 is the new 50, you have more than 10 years left, keep on truckin'!

Health and happiness in 2023 to you, your partner and to all those reading this.
Cheers!

Not to be negative but so long as your health is there.

My friend's mom was 72 and she wasn't feeling well. Turns out cancer in the lungs, bones, and brain...she was given 4-6 months.

4 weeks in the hospital.

Late 2022 was a almost return to normal for us , we finally got on a couple airplanes to travel , the investment funds continue to disappoint, and we almost lost the dog to serious illness .
2023 will be a retirement year for my wife after a long ( so she says ) career nursing, she’s getting out in her 50s so hopefully a good retirement. I’m a bit more expensive to entertain so I’ll work a while , not that I actually work hard . We have some travel planned , the race boat is already getting sorted for spring , I’m working hard on some fitness goals , it should be ok .
Best wishes for 2023 everyone

I hope you're right. I would love to be log hopping and punching holes in the sky into my 80's. But the ageing process is what it is. Right now my bubble tub and single malt gets used after every trial or trip to the DZ. It hurts, but it's hurts sooo good.

I hope 2023 brings everyone great success!!

2022 also saw a couple of people in our lives who passed away. At this age, we're attending more funerals than weddings these days.

That, combined with the travel restrictions lifting, has made us realize we need to live our lives to the fullest every single day. We've done a lot of riding trips this year, and it's finally felt the closest to normal that it's been in a while.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2023.

For me, it will be a cautious year. Hopefully no major purchases, expenses, or disasters to deal with.
I expect to receive a notable increase in my cost of housing and living, while my income remains the same.
Want to ensure I am prepared for this to maintain the quality of life I worked my entire life towards and deserve.
My new business venture will start its 2nd year in 2023.
While the 1st year was good it only achieved 80% of my planned target and I expect the same for 2023. (this is not a complaint, just reality)

I will continue to enjoy everyday in 2023 to the best of my ability. Be honest, kind, and ethical and remain strong and (moderately) healthy.
No resolutions, no promises, no vows. Just one day at time.

I need to lose weight. Just hit the scales at 179.4lbs.

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable NYE. Enjoy 2023 for all that it’s worth!

make a person wonder what is wrong in this world
Vanity brought on by social media exposure.

Plus height is often associated with power and masculine sexuality. Easy to see some people’s desperation to go to extreme lengths (pun intended) to ‘fix’ themselves.
