I will be moving from Kinston to Bath Ontario.
That will give me a 26km ride to my part-time job along hwy 33 (lakeshore).
Its not worth getting the Guzzi out of the garage for just a short ride at mostly 60kph.
My second all time favourite bike was the Chinese designed and built Suzuki GW250.
I put close to 20,000 kilometers on mine and most of that doing 5,000+ km tours.
The only reason I sold it was it was stored in Ontario and I lived in Edmonton AB
and would not be travelling East for several years.
I want a bike with a low seat because I am old and can't lift my leg that high anymore.
Would someone please explain why I need 16 inches of space between the rear wheel and the fender
with only 3 inches of suspension travel.
I want brakes that will stop the bike otherwise I would ride my 1974 Yamaha DT175.
I want a bike with an upright seating position and fenders that will stop the rain water on the road.
I want to be able to buy parts if I need them.
I want to hear from actual owners of CFMoto products.
Not interested in opinions from people who has a friend of a friend of an ex-girlfriends 3rd cousin who had one.

Do you have much time on the DT? I ride one, the front brakes are very good if properly maintained.
I clean mine once a year. Lube the pivots, blow out the dust, deglaze the drum and shoes with 80grit. I also use a heavy brake cable. I cant remember, but I think I used a Virago 1100 clutch cable - won’t stretch that. I could probably do a stoppie with them.

I also use Shinko 244s, more road biased and don’t feel squishy.

Space for your legs? If you don't need that much, what's wrong with a Grom? Or a cruiser, if you only want the seat to be a couple inches above the tire?

Same bike I have

but 1/3 of the mileage. Mine burns zero oil. Will like run longer than I will and I'm older than you. I get 350 km on a 13 L fillup. Can flat foot - I have 30" inseam.
There are several on Kiji but $3800 is a bargain.

Outside of the Honda 300 series I’d recommend going to something you said you really liked…another Suzuki GW250? Maybe a TU250? Heard decent thing about those and you’re guaranteed to be able find parts.

Buy a Grom - you'll be happier. There isn't a big enough CF Moto dealer network to support the product properly.
Why do you think a motorcycle built in Thailand is better than one built in China

You have really bought into the whole advertising thing.
I have owned a lot of Honda and some where good and others where garbage.
It's just another big company run by accountants looking to maximize profit.

If you're got a good CF Moto dealer nearby then roll the dice. The ones I'm familiar with (not gone in to check them out) aren't open when I go by or seem to be more focused on boats or other products like ATV's or farm equipment.. If you know of one that you're comfortable with then "bombs away."

As to why a motorcycle with the Honda emblem on it would be preferable as opposed to CF Moto, you already really know the answer it you stop to think about it.

Personally, I'd ride the Guzzi. If I was just going to the mailbox (500 foot driveway) - I'd ride the Guzzi. Barring that, I'd get a used XT250 or a Kawasaki Sherpa 250, but I'd still be tempted to ride the Guzzi.

Why does it matter where they're built? They're just factories that build from blueprints supplied by the engineers and designers and are contracted to meet a specific level of quality. All else being equal, you should end up with the same product.

All things are not sometimes equal. When you're building to a price corners MAY be cut. Just ask Boeing.

I am still waiting to hear from an actual owner of a CFMoto product.
Someone who actualy knows what thier talking about.

Not sure if you reddit, but some of the subs are very helpful (but careful they may turn into echo chambers of positive vibes).

A solid contender that's come up in some of those threads has been the Ninja 400 as they can be had for a good price, and you always have that network that's behind them.

maybe its because there are none?

They are extremely rare in canada.

The GROM would most likely retain a higher resell value when you need to get rid of it, and be quicker to sell.
