I sold my CB500x and this looks like fun for Australia.
2 year warranty and financing available.

Anyone have insight into Benelli and this machine in particular?

also stalking this one a my local dealer. Can finance it. Low km ...was looking at this when they were first announced for Australia. $6800 asking, single seat rego saves money.

Way lighter than the KLR and enough ooomf for my casual riding. 350 lb. 34 HP ...that's enough. 140 kph ...better than the KLR will do these days.

Just need to sell the CBF1000

BMW has a deal on for $31 a week ( that's all in ) with a $2180 buy out at the end on a 5 year basis. That is less than what I was paying on the CB500x.
Hoping I can get something for the Burgman 650 as one dealer is a fan.

I looked at th 310 when it first came out and and thought it very good for Australia. Might just be the time.
$8000 new ( that's all in in Australia ..) might be better off with new 2021 than used 2019 at $6800 but the used one at $5900 or with Burgman trade is also attractive. Two bikes to sort as yet before I do anything.

Rego includes 3rd party liability so likely to be quite low as cost depends on the cylinders as well.

I’ve always liked the new 310 offering from BMW. But not a lot of them were up for grabs in the recent months. Might see some more with spring around the corner.

Are bikes that expensive over there? Over 10 grand for a 310R seems excessive.

They are somewhere around 6500 out the door here.

$8k out the door here. That's tax in. And about $7700 in Cdn dollars.
$6700 for the lightly used in Cdn dollars.

Generally bikes are more expensive.

2K in financing and buy out fees..... that's steep.

did a demo ride of a BMW300 at Mosport last summer before C19. pretty wimpy I thought

31 x 52 = 1612
1612 x 5 = 8060
8060 + 2180 = 10,240

did I miss something?

are you sticking to vanilla? Maybe see how you like the duke 390s

not interested in a KTM and for my use the 310 is fine.
As I mentioned I've been following it since it came out for my next bike in Australia. It would not be suitable in Canada for me ....the CB500x was.

I was gifted the 650 Burgman so hard to argue tho will cost about $500 to get sorted for the roadworthy. Should be complete by next week ...both dealers are willing to discuss a trade since it has roadworthy.

The KLR is no spring chicken either- the Burgman is quick enough but too heavy for my tight parking spot and speeding costs here are punitive. General limit is 100 kph and enforced with cameras and mobile radar at 5kph over. Fines are high ...cost me $266 for 14 kph over. Sedate riding is the rule and I'm just out photographing and listening to audio books so not in a hurry. The 310 is "okay" on forest trails.
I'll go over to the dealer on the weekend and sit on it ...see how it feels ...they likely will let me demo ride it.

No one counts finance as the cost of a bike. It's the cost of finance.

I beg to differ. The cost of finance is added to the cost of the item.

Don't get me wrong, everybody values things differently and are in different situations, but paying 30% more for an item is a no go for me.

Better check your math. hyperbole doesn't make your point.
Prices are tax in in Australia unlike Canada.

You buy a bike in the motorcycle market.

You finance it, if you need or want to, in an entirely separate market place.

Some manufacturers offer a break on finance costs - just another sales incentive like "free" this or that.

I want a low monthly cost and don't mind a backend loaded finance deal. I have no interest in tying up working capital when I can defer it.

I can buy the bike on a credit card or in cash but I won't.
Credit is just a tool to be used wisely or stupidly. ?️

As I said, you do you, but my math is sound.

You said it was 8K out the door. Then you said that it was 31 dollars a week for five years with a 2180 buy out.

That's 10, 240

I will agree it's not 30%, it's 28%.

If you can make that money work harder... power to you. Not saying your wrong, just saying I wouldn't do it.
