Good Day all,
a couple years I've lurked as a non-member and read the couple certas/dejardins StateFarm new risk scheme threads but now had to just ask...
Who has seen a raise and by how much?
The low down on me. Got my A endorsement in NB went with SF when I got my Monster 821 Stripe, was paying $1800 at 24yo, come back to Ottawa and they want $3100 at 25yo, keeping in mind that they wouldn't take my NB license for full M since it was under 2yrs old so got an M2. The agent is shocked and thinks its a glitch so calls the underwriter. Meanwhile I do some online quotes get around $2800 through Rider's plus and an independant (both using Intact), TD online quotes me $7500 (get bent).
I email the SF agent asking for what my rate would be with a 2012 Duc 848 just in case I wanted to trade in next year...she says oh probably around the same since its similarly sized bike...then I hear her heart stop for a second, $7800 for a 9-10k motorcycle.
I always knew we got bent over here but come on...
Anyways, rant aside, what are you guys finding now?
I find it so disheartening that a couple years ago people were insuring newish R1s for 2grand or less and now they wan't 3grand for my monster and are essentially killing SS in Ontario. Per capita our claims can't be "that" much higher than major cities out west like in Alberta etc...
EDIT: To add insult to injury, just got the new license in the mail (had my temporary up till now) and they only put the G on it...its like this province just hates Motorcycles... Into Serviceless Ontario on monday I s'pose.
