Motorcyclist dies following Etobicoke crash

A 23-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash in Etobicoke.

Toronto police say he suffered life-threatening injuries after colliding with a car at Kipling Avenue and Jutland Road, north of the Gardiner Expressway, around 3 p.m. on Monday.

The victim, whose name hasn’t been release, died in hospital on Tuesday.

Police say the motorcyclist was driving north on Kipling when he hit a Honda Accord. The driver of the Accord, a 49-year-old man, was turning from Jutland onto Kipling at the time of the crash.

No charges have been laid.

GWS rider. I was going home along Kipling and got rerouted by the cops. Too far to see if it was a bike or car. Lots of units near Jutland / North Queen closed the street.

I work right around the corner from there. A customer of ours saw the accident and told me about it right after it happened. She said she thinks the bike rider was coming from the xtreme couture gym parking lot at north queen/kipling and that a woman in a car came around the corner and smoked the rider. Said it look like the car drivers fault from her vantage point.

Unfortunately I witnessed it, as I was driving on Jutland towards Kipling. Rider was Northbound on Kipling coming from N Queen St. Car was pulling out of Jutland to make a left turn onto Kipling Southbound. Rider hit car in the area of the driver's door. The bike cartwheeled over the car and fell on the passenger side of the car. the rider was down on the driver's side of the car. The rider hit the car, it would appear that the car drove into his path. Since Kipling is 4 lanes plus a center turn lane here, cars often try to cross the northbound lanes to get into the center turn lane as it is a very busy intersection. Terrible accident. prayers with the rider.

Update:

I was unfortunately informed that this rider had passed away this morning. Rest in peace.

Horrible news.

Ride safe everyone.

Terrible news, RIP rider. Going to assume that the rider gunned it to gain that much momentum in such a small stretch and the car came out to turn south on Kipling. Bike flies into car. North Queen and Jutland is a stones throw.
