Man charged after Highway 7 collision east of Peterborough

Norwood man charged after motorcyclist struck at 6:53 a.m. Monday

123456789101112 (PETERBOROUGH) A Norwood man is facing three charges after his Grand Am collided with a motorcycle this morning.
Just before 7 a.m., a westbound Yamaha motorcycle was stopped for an eastbound school bus when it was struck by a white car, police say. The bus had its lights flashing as it picked up a student.
William Chase, 40, of the Havelock area, was rushed to PRHC and then airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto with serious life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, Chase Baptie, 19, of the Norwood area, has been charged with careless driving. He faced additional charges of possession of a controlled substance (less than 30 grams of marijuana) and breach of probation.
Hwy. 7 was closed from Providence Line to Hwy. 28 until 10 a.m. as police investigated.

I've ridden with the rider before. Really nice guy and very sad to hear this. Driver gets slapped with Careless Driving..... ****ing ridiculous.
