2013 Kawi Ninja 300 Steering Lock

I'm a new rider and am having trouble with my bike's steering lock. After parking, I can turn the key all the way to lock but can't remove the key. I have to turn the key back to OFF and then take it out. I've tried turning the wheel or leaving it straight before doing it but still no luck. Am I missing something? I mentioned it to my dealership and they said its a common problem with the 300. Does anyone else with the 300 experiencing this?

The steering lock position is slightly before full-lock to the left, so the easy way to find it is to turn your handlebars all the way to the left, and while rotating the key towards the lock position, turn the handlebars slowly to the right until the key "pops".

Not sure what your dealer is talking about, I haven't heard of anyone else having issues with the steering lock on the 300.

Every bike I've ever owned is like this. Move the handlebars slightly away from the full-lock position and the key will come out.

Also make sure the key isn't in a parking light position. That's usually to one side of the lock position. I believe you can't remove the key from there but I'm not really sure since I have never used it.

jiggle the bar a bit till the key pops out
