Police say alcohol was a factor in an early-morning motorcycle crash on Eglinton Avenue East.
The rider crashed his bike around 2 a.m. on Eglinton near Markham Road and was seriously hurt. When officers arrived at the scene they found him a fair distance away from the motorcycle.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
There’s no word yet on specific charges.
This accident is the latest in a string of serious motorcycle crashes this month, including a fatal crash last Sunday in the Caledon area, on the Forks of the Credit Road between Highway 10 and McLaren Road.
There have been 11 motorcycle crashes so far this month — four of them fatal.

A motorcyclist is facing impaired driving charges after early-morning motorcycle crash in Toronto’s east end Thursday, police say.
The single-vehicle crash occurred on Mason Road, near Eglinton Avenue East and Markham Road, at about 3 a.m.
Despite his injuries, the motorcyclist managed to walk away from the scene after crashing, but police found him a short time later.
A Toronto EMS official told CP24 the man was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
