Royal York Road is closed near Evans Avenue, just south of the Gardiner Expressway, after a serious crash involving a motorcycle early Friday morning.
Toronto EMS said a man, believed to be in his 60s, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The road closure is expected to last several hours.
Police Const. Clint Stibbe told CP24 investigators are looking at speed, road conditions and traffic lights as factors in the crash.
He said the motorcycle was southbound on Royal York when it crashed into the passenger side of a Ford Focus that was turning left onto Evans from Royal York’s northbound lanes.
Stibbe said the Ford Focus’ driver, a 57-year-old woman, was not injured but was shaken up.
