Would anyone happen to know the MSRP price when it just came out? Was it $4,999?
I'm getting a new one for 4,300 + tax (freight+handling included) while people are selling used ones for 3.8-4.3 with like 2k-10k on them already. Not really answering your question... But if it's you first bike buy it used. You are almost for sure going to drop it.
towing to your place?
just ride it dude
i'd keep looking for a used one, i picked up a used 09 250r to learn how to ride, am almost bored of it and it's only been a week

Safety + towing to my place + licensing etc will end up costing like 200-300 so doesn't it make sense to just get one new? Will have a better resale too if I decide to sell it
Really... a week!!! You haven't even started exploring what your bike have to offer...
It really depends on you. Take in consideration that most people drop or fall with their bikes on the first two years. Also, if you are buying a bike just to ride, then I would say go for it. But if you plan on learning proper techniques and pushing yourself to your limits before you buy a bigger bike, then I would buy a cheaper bike so that you are not too worried about dropping it.
What dealer?! They didn't charge you handling + freight?I bought my new one this year for $4k + tax, fyi. So did some other people...
its a good deal if you plan on keeping it for a very long time , if your only going to keep it for a season or 2 tops you will lose more money then buying used, remember your first bike is never your last and buying new you will most likely lose roughly $1000 if not more when you sell it ,when buying used you might only lose a few hundred bucks tops if you get bored of it and want to upgrade, but you seem to be set on new so if you go that route congrats on the new bike and ride safeI'm managing to get a 2012 Ninja 250 brand new for 4,100 + tax
