A soldier from Mississauga has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in Manitoba.
CFB Shilo released a statement Wednesday identifying the man as Bryce Leonard Piukkala, a 31-year-old warrant officer who was stationed at the base in southwestern Manitoba.
Piukkala died when his motorcycle hit a bulldozer in a construction company yard near Boissevain, Man., on Monday.
The 13-year military veteran served three tours of duty overseas – two in Bosnia and one in Afghanistan – and was a member of the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
