2011 suzuki gsxr600 Question

Hi i just bought a 2011 suzuki gsxr600
When i turn the ignition to the on position the dashboard displays the word 'chec' in the place where it displays milage , as soon as i turn the red button on the handle bar to the on position it goes off and the milage starts to display , the word 'chec' only shows when the ignition is on and the red button is in the off position and soo. As i turn the res button on , the bike does everything normal and starts pumping fuel and the km start to display, when the bike is started everything is fine, no lights are on.
Does anyone know what it is ?

good idea. you need to have a good plan of attack for such a monumental feat.

it will also show that when your bike isn't in neutral and your ignition is on

its "check engine" because you turned on the electrical systems but didnt fire it up.
turn it on, let the pump prime wait a second the fire it up.
