Anyone else like to camp every and any weekend they can?
I'm just looking to branch out for others who enjoy camping. Most of my friends don't like to do it as often as I do, and when they do, they need to bring every comfort that they can to ensure their stay remains enjoyable.

Me and my girlfriend go every weekend we have free, and if she's working the weekend, then I find someone else to go with.

The locales I enjoy going to are: Algonquin Park (Canoe lake, Opeango lake), Cyprus Lake (Tobermory), Awenda, etc. Generally, where I go, there has to be something to do. Hiking, canoing, fishing, or the works.

So if you like to camp, let me know where you like to go, and how often you like to go. Maybe one day we can coordinate an outting?

I "camp" so much with work, and it's not fun living my life out of a ruck sack, hardly sleeping and being eaten alive...
However, I camp out every weekend at the race track. But, I bring a few comfort items... Such as my truck bed-tent, double size air matress with big pillows and nice blankets, cooler full of drinks and good food to cook on the coleman saturday night after a day of practice, good tunes, the guitar...

Oh, I also have the street bike with me in case I need to run in to town :D

I would be pretty happy if I didn't have to "camp" and rough it ever again... However I'm doing a 3 day portage trip in Algonquin in July voluntarily, but that is mainly for the company I'll be with.

Camping rocks!!! I get a kick out of dragging as many creature comforts as possible to remote areas where I don't come across another soul!

Anyone into Crown Land Camping? We should share some "hidden treasures"!

I'm headed to Mont. Tremblant next week with work to do some stuff... Supposed to be fun, but I'm "working" as the safety police so we'll see how that goes...

Here's a page with good maps. http://www.ottertooth.com/Temagami/Maps/map_tem_atlas.htmKokoko lake is always my fave.Easy portage.A bit heavily used, but still good fishing. You can park at the big parking lot and it's an easy trip up KOkoko bay to the portage. The crude red arrow is a good camp spot and the red lines are good pickerel and pike spots.Spawning lake is very good, but it's a long hike.

I love camping. I'm a year round camper but that comes with being a scout leader. Weekends I sometimes just stay close to home, Elora gorge and relax. Last summer was Lake Placid and Allegheny State Park. Leave on Friday for a week at Letchworth State Park. I find the provincial parks in Ontario OK but most are over priced for what they offer, unless going to the interior and have become a haven for drunken young people. Just not my cup of tea. I'm not always looking for that big adventure and just want to relax by the fire and cook a nice meal on the fire and some dessert in the dutch oven.

What you guys suggest for a guy liek me with little camping experience and 3 young boys? I wanna camp, all but 1 is pumped to go, but if i can get some good fishing in then that may make it better for them, lol.

Oh and dog friendly would be awesome!

Groomed camping spots, something with a lake if it's fishing you want. Algonquin has alot of groomed camping spots, and clearly, many lakes to fish from. But since I don't go particularily for fishing, maybe someone will provide you a better suggestion for a place to go.

Best tip i can give you is to leave "your" fishing gear at home. You will have your hands filled untangling the other three.Find a pond a short distance from home where they catch anything. They won't be looking for a trophy crown trout.

Camping and fishing, maybe Byng Island or Guelph lake, close to home, both on the grand river with some fish to be caught. May or may not be edible variety depending on if you have boat and find a good spot, but certainly the kids will get something, rock bass or catfish. There is good fishing there from a boat or not far away.
