Hi Everyone,
I am moving to NYC this upcoming Sunday (April 1st) on a work transfer for a couple years. My original plan was to keep the bike in a Manhattan garage for occasional weekend rides. However the paperwork involved with importing it there and all the associated hassles have made me think it may just be better to buy a US bike once I'm down there.
This bike was bought brand new from downtown BMW last year and is in mint condition. It has never had any issues and I've loved riding it - absolute hoot. Also its never been raced, crashed, abused or dropped. Furthermore its never had any modifications with the exception of a better windscreen and black levers.
The only issue its ever had came recently when the dealership told me a sensor in the clutch lever was faulty and would have to be replaced (under warranty). The sensor is what allows the bike to be started in gear. However, I've always started the engine in neutral so I never even knew about this fault. Which brings me to the next point - that part is on backorder and will be only be replaced on April 2nd (the day after I leave).
So I'm selling this bike now with that full disclosure and an appointment booked for the sensor replacement. I would like to sell the bike with all issues resolved of course to maximise value, but having said that I wouldn't mind wrapping this up before I leave either.
So I'm posting this on the off chance that there is someone out there who is ok with taking the bike to the dealership themselves on the 2nd and willing to do a deal this week (the bike is perfectly great to ride until the 2nd with the caveat to put in neutral before starting engine). If a reasonable buyer doesn't emerge, I'll just deal with the hassles of exporting to US or sell it next time i'm back in town.
If anyone is interested - please call me at 416-882-2349.
Good luck to all. Pictures and Details:
