2010 ninja 250 strong exhaust smell?

Hey, my ninja 250 gives off a stong exhaust small. When i pull up to a red light all i can smell is exhaust fumes. What could be the problem and any ideas how i can fix this?

Sounds too rich. Does it run right?

It's still in winter mode right now, but last season it seemed to run fine. It's also my first bike so i don't have anything to compare it to. Also every now and then on start up it would back fire and scare the crap out of me :S

if its the stock exhaust the back fire is common on the 250's lol. Those Ninja's make some interested noises too lol. Mine would make a mooing sound when I put her away for the night. lol. The exhaust smell might just be the over wintering working itself out. Mine used to have a really rich smell after the winter, was told it was because of the stabilizer.

If you put stabalizer in, I heard it'll make some funny smoke outta the exhaust. Wait for you to burn through a tank then come back to us.
