I am looking to buy 2008 zx6r with 14K on it. Asking price was $6300 but we agreed on $5700. Is this fair price for 7 year old bike? He is second owner, will provide UVIP and safety in that price. Are there any known issues with the bike that I should be aware? Anything particular I should check ? Bike looks clean and rides great.


UPGRADES to bike if that makes any difference : stainless brake lines, Pazzo Racing shorty adjustable levers, HID head lights, Ottimoto pegs and pedals, LED tail light, smoked turn signals, 10% gear reduction, custom seats with more cushion.
 
It's a bit high, but if it was well cared for, you'll have to judge.

The HIDs could be a problem to safety.
 
I looked at cbbtrader : "Retail Low: $5,824 Retail High: $6,968" but not sure how true it is.
 
US Kelly is US$5100 in good condition. not sure about US$ versus our Sandy McTire money, but in 2008 we were close to par.
 
Thats a good price. Dont listen to caferay, hes delusional that he can get a bike right off the showroom for less than half the msrp because its ...."used".
 
Any know issues that I should be aware of?
 
The only issue : very aggressive sitting
You will hurt your wrist after 20 min of riding.

Also do the jumper mod. It will smooth out upper range.

There is no issue othetwise. The engine and tranny are considered the best in its class.
 
recall on leaking valve cover gasket, it usually leaks/weeps oil on the clutch lever side of the bike first, looking in from the left side fairing look at the cylinder head on that side you will see oil and dirt collection on the cylinder head as it leaks/weeps out between the valve cover (don't remember if its just 07 or 08 or both but I have replaced many)

Loud cam chain/ cam chain tensioners

Thanks folks for the input. I am waiting on seller to get the safety done. Hopefully we will do the title transfer on Friday.
