2008 Suzuki B King, cold start knock.

Hydraulic cam chain tensioner taking a while to do it's thing maybe.
 
Take a quick video of the noise (try to get as close as possible to the location of the noise) and post it up. Or put it on Youtube and send us the link.
 
change the oil and filter so you know the grade and viscosity at least for winter storage, see if that helps. the seller was aware of the noise,due to pre warm up. cheap fix the cam chain tenioner???
 
One of the first things when buying a used bike is to see if the engine is warm when you arrive to look at it.

I have burned many hands seeing that the owner had the bike running up unti lI pulled up.

Yes I did call the owner, he said that when he bought with 2500 kms on it, the noise was there and it now has 8000 kms on it. The thing I find weird is that he warmed it up before i looked at it and failed to tell me about it. I would have walked away if I heard it! I will try to post a video after I'm done work. he is no ediot knowing it makes that noise you would have not bought it.....sorry op lesson learned
 
Hello Its cold now! everyone is going to start posting in technical about their bikes making funny noises....BECAUSE ITS COLD!

If there was something wrong with it, the noise wouldn't just go away as it gets warm, it would do the opposite and get worse.....

Im leaving for a trip tomorrow, when I get back on Wed and start my truck, I know its going to sound like the motor is blown for couple seconds...It takes time for oil to warm up and reach all the places it needs to in this kind of weather...
