2007 ZZR250 suddenly won't idle

Background:
2007 250cc carbbed ZZR250. We purchased it new in April 08 when they were clearing them out for cheap after they launched the 08 Ninjas. We didn't know it, but when we brought it home for my wife she was already preggers.

Between us, we put just under 6000 kms on it (I'd drive it to work from time to time when I had my cruiser). Since I got my SS, I have barely driven it and she was pregnant again last year. I didn't do oil last year, but it was changed in 08 and again in 10.

It was stored WITHOUT stabilizer this past year.

It was driven with no issues May 13th. Hasn't been run much since. I started it July 1 and it now will NOT idle. I have it running and when I am driving at 80-100km/h on it, it feels like its surging a little. Almost like I am on and off the throttle. I have put a lot of miles on that bike and others, so I know when I have a steady hand on the throttle and its not me. It feels a little like its not getting enough gas, sort of like when you are just starting to run the tank dry and need to switch to reserve.

I have:
1) Drained all the gas out of the tank and refilled with high test
2) Put in stabilizer to run it through (and put about 80kms on the bike since this)
3) Adjusted idle screw to get it back to about idle again

Other steps I have considered:
1) Oil (ok, more than considered I just need to do it)
2) Plugs (I just don't think its this, but will pull them)
3) Disassembling the carb bowl (I am concerned the bad fuel gunked up the carb and that's why it doesn't appear to be getting enough fuel)

Anyone out there with experience in little bikes have any ideas? My wife is coming up on expiring her M2 and she WILL stall this beast at a stop the way its running right now.

Sounds like the carb jets are all clogged. You can try running it with Seafoam and hopefully that will clear it up. Otherwise, you will need to pull the carbs out and clean em out the old fashioned way.

Read the sticky thread at the top of this very forum section. Carbs on those are notoriously finicky.
