May I present for your consideration a 2005 blue/white Suzuki Katana 600 with 34000 kms, for sale at an eminently reasonable $3500. I'm selling it because I've moved downtown and no longer have a place to park it.
It's an excellent all-rounder, as the following videos that I made myself demonstrate:
Commuting: http://youtu.be/XXWNslrBhR4
Touring: http://youtu.be/QWDvmTxl34w
Sport riding: http://youtu.be/jS24h2AZxbY
It's very comfortable (soft seat and high-mount clip-ons). It goes 300+ km on a tank of regular gas. It has a centrestand, making it easy to work on or load luggage. Regularly maintained either by myself or by Ted at Rosey Toes Motorcycles: the rear tire is very new; the front tire, chain, sprockets, and brake fluids are fairly new; and the oil has been changed every 6000 km with Motul 5100.
All in all, this is a great choice for someone moving up from a 250 who doesn't want the on-road compromises inherent in a supersport, or a level-headed beginner who might be too heavy for a smaller bike. You can contact me by private message, I'll be checking it every day.
Almost forgot! Here's a picture of it on a camping trip:
