2003 GSXR750 Won't Start

Before going to work today I was hearing some weird rattling sounds coming from my bike. It kind of sounded like my viper alarm was making some weird noises (not loud) or something was stuck inside the exaust can. I didn't have time to check, so I rode to work, mechanically the bike was fine.

When I wanted to go home, the bike wouldn't start. I turn the ignition on, pull the clutch all the way in, and press the starter; the bike doesn't even turn over. I only hear the pump prime when I press the starter but the engine doesn't make any sounds whatsoever. I tried to push start it in 1st and 2nd gear no luck, it felt like the engine was turning at least for a moment. I didn't have much time so I left the bike at work and got a ride home. There's no possibility of me doing something wrong with the start procces like kill switch, kick stand down in 1st gear etc, there's definitely something wrong with the bike. My guess is there's a short somewhere (which would cause weird alarm souds, I've had this before on a different bike) and some fuses may be blown, or the starter is done. Mind you one of he tail lights is not working, I haven't had time to change it or look at it. So I'm leaning towards the short, cause it's similar to what happened on my other bike that also had an alarm.

If you guys have any good pointers I should consider when I go to have a look at the bike tomorrow let me know...

I really, really hope your bike will still be there? Best of luck fixing it and getting to ride again. Sorry no help with the fix, wish I was more mechanically inclined :(

You likely have a slight drain on the battery that drained it while you were in at work. Get a boost and you should be good to ride it home. You will need to trace that electrical gremlin down though.

check your battery connentions, take a volt meter with you to check the charging system, and bypass the alarm with a hiddin switch

Turns out it was just a bad connection at the main 30 A fuse. I disconnected the plug, blew some dust away, and the bike started right up. All the fuses were fine...

wow, your bike was still there in the morning? Must be a nice neighborhood
