Hello everyone
So this is my first bike iv ever, 2000 yamaha R6. The issue im current having is it has trouble starting after a ride. Like in the mornings it will start up fine with the choke open all the way and a little throttle. but after riding around for say 40 min if I stop and turn of the bike then wait like another half hour it has a lot of trouble starting. It looks as if the battery is dying, it will crank then just slow down and stop cranking, I have to give it gas to get it started….if im lucky.
Im hoping to take it into a shop sometime soon, but if its as simple as buying a battery or charger id start there. Any ideas of what it could be and where I should be looking ?

If its cranking but not starting, your battery is probably fine. The reason it sounds like its dying is cuz you're just draining it trying to start it. Does it bump start?

i haven't had to resort to bump starting, i mostly getting it running fine. took my bike to work today started up fine in the morning, parked at work for about 9 hrs started up fine at the end of the day. drove to bank which is about a 20 min drive went inside for about 5 - 10 min. when i came out to start the bike nothing happens, no clicks or anything. choke is open, and its in neutral but still nothing. i keep trying then it finally clicks a few times so i give to gas to get it running. im starting to think its not the battery.
