Where in upstate New York or Pennsylvania should me and my buddy go for a two day ride (we have wed-thur off this week). I was thinking somewhere in the Appalachians but want a destination and a nice place to stay.

If you make it a two and a half day ride you can book it over to Ellicottville area and stay there overnight. That will put you in a good position to ride anywhere in Pennsylvania the day after....
Even if you leave GTA after work you will make it to Ellicottville before sundown. If you split the motel between two people it's completely reasonable.. for extra $30 or so each you get a whole bunch more riding in and not having to ride 3-4 hours before the twisties begin...

If you are doing a 2-day trip, St. Marys is not bad

I don't understand. Why would I need the extra half day to go to ellicotville ??

Since we
Are really just riding there and back I want to stay at a great destination. Somewhere with good food, pool, place to drink and smoke cigars. Ideas?

Adirondacks without a doubt. Amazing roads, non stop twisties. I like Old Forge, NY. Its on the western side of the Adirondacks, has a very nice clean campsite thats around $25 a night for a camp site. They have cabins as well. Very clean, good facilities, just an all around great place to stay

Olde Forge also has motels if that is your fancy. Great little town with good restaurants to boot.
