2 Bikes get knocked over in a parking lot...

on a side note, the new Beatle looks great!

I know of two parked bikes that got knocked over by a male driver on Yonge St just a month ago. What's your point?

Mine got knocked over on center street, Downtown TO by a hit and run driver. Too bad for him there were witnesses and he was charged with leaving the scene!

It's funny how insurance for females is cheaper..

That is because women run into things at low speeds and men run into things at high speeds, imo. If a man had been driving those bikes would have been smashed to sh*t :D

I bet that lady was crapping herself getting out of the vehicle.

nooooo an FZ6...

I don't get how people don't freak out when this stuff happens... She had more than enough range in the side mirror to see them.
Oh, and if she had backed in to the spot, this would have been prevented ;)

Who makes a parking spot where the stop sign is. LOL

What would freaking out solve? It's already happened, just deal with it.

Needless to say, it was a female driver.

Rofl, that was my first assumption when I read the title.

Hate seeing a bike on the floor  good job to the riders for not losing their cool. I don't even want to think about how mad I would be haha.

I never park my car like that, the front of my car is always facing towards the road/street. Way less of a hassle when exiting and I've done it so much that parking in reverse has actually become easier for me now.

Ok they are RIGHT there behind her, and there is a lot of traffic in a parking lot, so she didn't even bother to look in her mirrors at all, there could have been a little kid walking behind her bumper.. In cases like this where it's on video and cut and dry that she is a complete moron they should just take her license off her, ban her from driving for a year, and make her start over from scratch and take the written and driving tests again before she gets it back. There are far too many people out there who have licenses who have no business being on the roads. Make the test harder.

Come on! They were on their bikes, engines were on -> 50/50

sorry for bikes though...

Always back into a parking spot or driveway. If anything happens as a driver backs into a flow of traffic, it is automatically his fault, becasue he is the one doing something illegal. It is illegal to back into a roadway or flow of traffic.

Not sure why the first rider didn't accelerate away...looked like there was space.

And second I'd be picking up my bike MUCH quicker.

I'm not blaming the riders here, but I prefer to prevent getting into this sticky mess to spite the faults of whomever. It just ruins my ride mates!.. So, allow me 3 seconds of your precious time *thanks* and let's highlight something I like to practice called "SITUATION AWARENESS". What is that, you ask?! Well, had these boys been up on this practice they would have caught the fact that there was a driver in that little bug and should have been thinking: "hmmm.. we know how people (not just 'women', fellas) can be absent minded and such.. what if that driver is about to pull out?.. and what if we've just arrived in time to miss being seen while they were checking for their right-of-way?.. should this spot I'm in be a good one?.. for how long?.. and should I ignore facts about bad design which might help precipitate such quandaries like being at a proposed stopping point directly behind a potentially moving car???.. and where can I go should this moment turn into a poop show?.." these thoughts should be happening VERY fast, right?.. okay people.. SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. Pilots depend on it. And so should you. Think about it. ;-)
