1st Niagara Motorcycle Show

Actually seems pretty legit for all riders...Suzuki will be doing demo rides, Learning Curves will be there, Nick Lee’s World Burnout Tour, Stunters Inc...

im going to ride there and then head over for wings in fort erie anyone up for a ride sunday leaving around 930am let me know have to be back around 5-6

It is NOT worth it IMO. I went to the poker run today which was not bad. The show started late so I had to sit and wait to enter, when I went in there were very few vendors, it would take under 1 hour to see. A bunch of those booths selling no name cheap leather gloves, some random booths. The only 2 I spent time at was the NEXX helmet booth and the ZERO motorcycle booth. Aside from that I would be upset if I had paid 20$ to get into that show. I give them credit for putting the show together and hopefully it will grow, but if you ride up to go see it you will most likely be disappointed.

There is no sport bike stuff if anyone is wondering.

Well, that's disappointing. I sent an email and the response I received was that "all motorcycles would be respresented". Suppose I won't waste my time, or $20. I was hoping to pick up a mesh jacket.

Agreed. Only thing I took away from it was finding my size in a Nexx helmet.

Wasted 20$ on it yesterday. It was a joke.

I was disappointed in not being able to go. Sounds like it was about the same size as the Hamilton show. At least at Hamilton, the local dealers showed up. :)

My wife and I were out for other reasons, stopped for lunch at the Regency on Moutain Rd, just off the exit heading toward Niagara Falls. Excellent Wings and other fair and a Patio by the way, plus they have designated parking. Heard the place used to be a dump, but completely redone. If you find yourslef out there and excellent lunch or dinner stop. Sorry I digress, I have no connection to this place by the way.
aqnd $
Anyway, my point, older bearded biker guy also stopped for a bite told us that if we were heading there, probably should rethink. Said other bikers who had been there were waving other riders off as they were exiting. He was told to save his time and money when he rolled in.

Sounds like he was right. Hop they can sort out another year and put together something that warrants the time $. Any new show is tough, but if you donb't show value right away to the target market, it makes pulling in a second year enven tougher

vote with your dollars. stop going to these shows till they combine all the shows in to one.

the only people who win from this are the organizers charging the vendors and the attendees outrageous fees.

I haven't been to a bike show since 2005.

If you build it the suckers will come.

Went there on Saturday. I was surprised how slow it was. As said by others, it was lacking venders. But it was definitely better than Hamilton show as far as I thought.
But it was their first show, hopefully they do it again next year and are able to bring in more. The venue itself was good, just needs time to develop. It has the potential.

I'm with the family in n. falls for the weekend and even though I heard it sucked, it was something to do so I went. It was truly the worst show I have been to. Outside there were enough vendors to keep me occupied for a whole 10 minutes. Inside, there were some vendors.... And that's it that's the show. Was done in there after 20 mins.

When I got there a mob of approximately 150 people who had paid an additional 40$ were lined up to meet the dude who plays Opie on sons of anarchy. Then they got antsy and like 10 of them started chanting "Op-ee!! Op-ee!!". There was also a really really big empty space in the middle of the hall! One vender told me that a lot of venders pulled out at the last moment. Don't know if that's true, but this thing blew so bad that it was funny. It was so funny that i didn't mind wasting the admin fee. I feel for the vendors who committed and stuck it out knowing this really blew. Tonight, I took my daughter around the falls, Clifton hill, etc and saw a lot of cruisers (I mean significantly more than usual) in hotel parking lots. The event's website was offering weekend passes (???) and hotel Packages. That sucks if the main reason you booked a room is for the purpose of being occupied by this show for a significant amount of time.

I wonder what that actor thought when he saw hordes of tumbleweed at this thing.

I went down Friday morning with Senshi and we attended the poker run. I think that the poker run was THE best part of the show. Our first stop was a shop where they sell jars of sauces, jams, mustards and such. Great home-made style products. We got our little fancy lunch box there (would have been great if they would have told us this at the beginning and not 10 minutes before we were to ride to our next stop). This first stop was about a 30 Km ride from the Scotia Center. We even had a police escort while still in the Niagara Falls area. The second stop was a local winery. We got to taste a sample of a couple of the wines they make. Not bad and the prices weren't expensive at all. I would even say that they could beat the LCBO on pricing on some items. The third stop was at Chocolate F/X in St. David. We got a short tour and then we went and practically EVERYBODY practically purchased chocolates int eh store. The fourth stop was actually combined with the fifth because it was the Niagara College agricultural campus, where students can learn to be either vintners or brew masters. Again we were able to sample some whine and some beer at both stops.

Now for the poker run info. Each stop had a table set up where everybody would draw a card. My order was J(H), K(H), Q(H), 10(C), Q(C). So I was hoping for the Royal Flush but that got shot down with the 10(C). I was hoping for a straight but that got shot down as well. I still had one more chance, as you could buy a card for $5 at our last stop which was Zappy's (beside the convention center, where we got to eat some pizza). Here I drew a 9(C). So I now have my straight and handed my playing card back (each location put a stamp on my card depending what card I drew).

Then Senshi, his friend and I went over to the convention center and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited,............

I finally got told that I had one of the three best hands and was a finalist. The finalists have to wait till 7PM to play another round. Longest damned wait I ever had. We walked the show and as Senshi said earlier there wasn't much to see except for those 2 vendors. Outside wasn't much better. Except for being able to drool over a few bikini clad strippers that were offering to wash cars for $20. I hope a BJ would be included but wasn't hoping to hard. Those girls were quite skanky anyways.

7PM and time for the finalists to play. It was a 5-card draw. to keep this short I lost to the last card drawn. I had a pair of 3's going on my last draw and was actually winning as the others had nothing and then the guy to my left (Dean was his name) drew a 10 to make a pair of 10's. So he was the lucky dog to win the Biker Rally Cruise. He is going to take his wife of 32 years and they will definitely enjoy themselves. He will have a chance at winning one of 3 brand new cruisers.

I got a second place finish and received 10 vouchers for $10 at a local gas bar and 2 tickets to a small concert in Stephenville on Aug 10th.

All-in-all I had a great time because of the people that were there. There never was any trouble and the police even left early at the show on Friday because there weren't enough trouble makers.

I took a small cruise around the falls and went up Cliffton Hill and saw many more bikes than usual.

Hopefully this show will be back and hopefully if will be much better. Every first show will have teething pains to get rid of and hopefully next year they will be much fewer.

This was the worst show/convention I have ever attended. Complete waste of $$. I encouraged friends to go and I was embarrassed. Yes, first shows are difficult, but the lack of dealers and vendors was just appalling.

Next time, I won't be going unless I see the vendor/exhibitor list in advance.
