Up for sale is my beloved 1988 Yamaha FZR250 (2kr). It is an imported/grey market bike straight from Japan. It has had only 1 previous owner in Canada before me. I have had it since August 2012. It is a truly fun, zippy, and unique bike. Redline up to 18500 rpms. Works flawlessly. Expect most things to be new as it was recently certified before ownership transferred to me in addition to work being done over the winter.
Since I have owned it, I have babied it, doing changes when I bought it, before winter storage, and after taking her out of storage. Chain lubed every other tank full. Previous owner did not take the best care of it, and as a result, small and minor cracks are on the fairings. There is also a small rip on the main and pillion seat.
new parts installed:
- new spark plugs
- new spark plug cables
- new k&n air filter
- front steel braided brake line
- rear steel braided brake line
- new fuel filter
- new k&n oil filter
- new diaphragms
- new fork seals
- new exhaust gaskets
- new front and rear sprockets
- new chain
- new EBC clutch plates and springs
- new grips
services done to the bike:
- carbs cleaned and balanced
- all fluids changed
- valve adjustments
- general tune-up
I also have various extra odds and ends. I have 3 or 4 extra oil filters to throw in, as well as a bike schematic (thats in japanese) and an FZR400 manual which is about the closest youll get to an english manual. (remember, its a grey market bike). I also have 2 or 3 spark plugs.
All receipts are included.
Reason I am selling is because I would like to move up to a cafe racer. The bike is certified. I will not come much lower in price as a result. I prefer this bike to go to someone who can appreciate it as a unique bike.
For the most up to date pictures, as a lot of the pictures are from before and during the winter, give me a shout and I will be more than happy to send it to you.
I am located in Etobicoke, and you will meet me at my place to view the bike. No test rides unless we have an agreed price, and the cash in my hand. I will not take your personal cheque, papal, or any other sketchy way of paying. I want cold hard cash or money order. If you have any trades, I will only take a trade for another motorcycle.
