i need to get the valves shimmed on my 2007 SV650 asap, I know a licensed mechanic who will do it on the cheap for me at $140-160 is this reasonable?

Is there anyone else in the GTA that would do it cheaper or is that the best I am going to get. don't know if I can tackle this one on my own (even with a how to), the hardest thing i have personally done on the bike my self, is a clutch replacement.

thats pretty good price not gonna lie. often valve check/shimming costs up 500 i think? depends on dealer. id be willing to help you out as i have done it on my sv and even have shims if needed ( of course if you want to learn etc). at most doing it yourself would cost shim kit ($100) plus 3+ hrs give or take on how paranoid you are on the retiming (if done) so when you crank it wont screw your engine)
