Anyone have any recommendations on how to do this on a 2011 CBR600rr. I'm looking to have a 12v outlet installed so I can charge my phone/gps etc. Pictures would be of great help!!

bummer, you need it for a 2011 CBR600rr. I only know of a video with it being done on a 2010 CBR600rr.
Good luck finding the info.

LOL :D

I got something like this at snowcity for 10-20 (?, forgot how much), connect this to battery, red to plus, black to minus, that's all

Proper way to do it is by using a relay setup. If it's hooked up directly to the battery it will run down your battery over time.

It shouldn't draw your battery down. I had one hooked to my vstar for 11 years. Never did did it draw my battery down. It's just a connection. If you don't have anything connected to it drawing power it will be fine. In addition to that I also had a connection for an electric vest. Never had an issue.

They sell one at Canadian Tire right now with a fuse. Red to Pos black to neg, i got that setup on my bike right now and it does not discharge the battery.

a 12V socket will have 0 amps being pulled when nothing is connected so dont worry about draining down your battery. Now if you intend to connect a GPS (or other device) and might forget to disconnect it then, yes it might be a good idea to tie it into power that is only on when the ignition is on. I installed a battery tender which includes connection to the battery, an inline fuse to an SAE connector, I put an SAE connector onto a USB port, putting a standard 12V cigarette lighter would be the same.

I have have something similar set up on my 2011 cbr600rr.
Bought 2 parts:
Battery Tender 081-0069-8
Battery Tender 081-0069-6

And a cig adapter and a phone charge cable I already had. I just need to route it under the tank so I can use it to charge while using my phone on my ram mount setup

These are simple and extremely effective. Make sure you have it fused to prevent any damage to battery or wiring harness. You won't see the draw on the battery when not in use.

I will be getting this.

I have my gps set up with a usb set up, can power/charge gps/phone/gopro etc. just change to the correct connector

I bought one of these Tap-a-fuses, and plugged it into the ignition fuse. This way it only draws power when the engine is on, so no worrying about forgetting to unplug my gps and drainign the battery.
