+$1000 since Intact took over Jevco?

I'm 22yrs old living in Brampton with a 2011 Kawasaki 250, got my M1 Jun 2011, no tickets & accidents; in Jul 2011 i went with TD and paid $3500 for 8 months, then went with State Farm in Mar 2012 and paid $2000 for the year.

Last year when i spoke with Alex Hara from CSIB he told me if i waited till Jun 2012 (+1yr since M1) to get my policy, i'd be paying $1850 for liability + fire/theft/vandalism; but i wanted to get a head start on the riding season and went with SF from March 2012.

I called CSIB and John R. Duffy today, and they're quoting me $2900 and then $2700 if i wait till Jun 2013 (+2yrs since M1).

That is almost +$1000 since Intact took over Jevco, this is ridiculous! My renewal for SF is still $2000. Are there any other alternatives?

Their rating system changed and they really can't give you a proper quote a year before.

You can always get a quote from TD again. A lot of people are moving to Des Jardin so they must be giving decent quotes.

So after finalizing everything, it's now $1172 with Des Jardin.

this includes $1mil liability and $300 comprehensive

Haha, you're welcome ;)

I tried calling up Desjardins for fun... knowing that State Farm is my best bet...

28, M2 in Oct 2012, full G for a long time. 2012 Ninja 250R, full coverage--$2014! Crazy.

Their websites looks just like the personal. Wonder if they have the same rates and policy not to insure SS

If all the online quotes I've been getting and the CSIB broker are accurate looks like it'll be going up another 400 bucks for me...Not much I can do other than stay quiet and accept it and hope my abstract isn't pulled. Its about another 33 bucks month...I was spending 60-80 a week on the mary jane which I quit about two months so whatever...I'll just be happy to keep on riding.

intact are $400 more expensive for me this year. wont be going with then, was with jevco for a long time.

Dejardins was pretty good for liability only in my case (young with a clean record), but then I got a quote for full coverage and the price sky rocketed to even more than I paid for my first season.

I can confirm Desjardins does not and has no plans to insure SS bikes :( they use the same Blacklist Jevco did
