09 zx6r running lights and tail light

Hi guys...

so I have two situations.

Situation 1:
Bike turned on. Running lights and tail light don't work. Head lights low/high work fine. signals work fine.

Situation 2:
When the bike is in 'park' mode (i.e. key turned all the way to the right), the running lights and tail light both work

I'm assuming its a fuse, but its odd that the running lights and tail light work in 'park' mode but not when the bike is on.

Regardless I'm going to check the fuse tomorrow, just wondering if anyone else ever come across this?

Isn't all the way to the right "ignition on"? Are you talking about the steering lock or ignition off position? I'm confused.

Does bike turned on mean ignition on and not started OR the bike is on and running?

Or are Kawi's made opposite of Yamahas?

Kawi from left to right goes....LOCK, OFF, ON, PARK

Sounds like it... only Kawi I had was a 93 ZX6r... but that was a "back in the day" bike.

But back to the OP's problem... still need to know if "turned on" means running or just ignition on. Some lights won't function unless the bike is running, depending on the manufacturer.

His 09 is one of them, the running lights and tail light should come in in the ON position, but the headlight will only turn on once the bike is turned over...Either running or just tap the starter button slightly till the light comes on...

Sorry I wasn't clear.

My bike was turned on, but the running lights and the tail light would not work.
However, when my bike was in the "park" position the running lights and tail light worked.

Took the seat off and realized it was just a blown fuse. Just thought that it was weird that they worked in the "park" position.
I guess they run on 2 separate fuses?? who knows.

I think I just blew my fuse because I'm mildly retarded but mostly impatient.

Is this 10A or 15A fuse? Just want to have one on hand before I dig in tomorrow night.

EDIT: It's 10A, found in service manual.
