06 Kawi 636 dies while riding!!

Hey guys, this has me scratching my head. Today my bike died on me twice.

Was just riding in traffic, coming to a stop and the bike lost power. The dash went dim (N light barely visible, tach OK, and Fi light came on, also dim), and it did not want to stay running, even with throttle open. I pulled over to the side, after a smoke I tried starting it, it tried turning over, but not enough juice it seems. After about an hour it did fire right up, with no hint of any issues, and ran normally for roughly 5-10 minutes, before dying again while downshifting coming to a stop. This time I heard a gurgle from the exhaust. I was forced to abandon it in a plaza until I am able to go pick it up tonight with a friend's truck.

Some info on the bike.

New battery - 3 days old, two rides.
New aftermarket rectifier - less than a month old, from GP Bikes
1/2 - 2/3 tank of 94 octane
33000 km

I'm at a loss because once it does fire up it runs perfectly fine. My guess would be the stator. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

Not serious answer : Your bike is angry for you wasting your money on 94 octane (use 87)
serious answer : The battery terminal sounds about right. Check that first and post the results

I would concur mister Watson

the terminals are good, and the battery was fully charged in store before i installed it.

At this point I'm thinking it may be a short or issue with the alarm on the bike. I'm going to try and strip it down and see if that solves anything. ???????

Another thing worth mentiining is that when i went to pick up the bike that night it started again, and ran for about 5 Mins before dying again.

...

You gotta test stuff out. Its hard to diagnose those type of electrical issues over the internet....check for the usual stuff. Terminals, connectors etc etc....

Ok, afterfurther testing, according to the service manual, I've figured out that it is the rectifier yet again...

Gotta love throwing money away. Fak!

Thanks for the help!
