Hey guys, this has me scratching my head. Today my bike died on me twice.
Was just riding in traffic, coming to a stop and the bike lost power. The dash went dim (N light barely visible, tach OK, and Fi light came on, also dim), and it did not want to stay running, even with throttle open. I pulled over to the side, after a smoke I tried starting it, it tried turning over, but not enough juice it seems. After about an hour it did fire right up, with no hint of any issues, and ran normally for roughly 5-10 minutes, before dying again while downshifting coming to a stop. This time I heard a gurgle from the exhaust. I was forced to abandon it in a plaza until I am able to go pick it up tonight with a friend's truck.
Some info on the bike.
New battery - 3 days old, two rides.
New aftermarket rectifier - less than a month old, from GP Bikes
1/2 - 2/3 tank of 94 octane
33000 km
I'm at a loss because once it does fire up it runs perfectly fine. My guess would be the stator. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
