04 GSXR 750 weird noise when idling

My 2004 GSXR 750 with 40,000kms on it is making a knocking sort of noise when at idle and is stalling easily when coming to a stop or at a stop once at normal operating temp. Could this be my timing chain making the noise and valves needing to be shimmed for why it's stalling? I know around the 48,000 mark is when the valves normally need adjustment so is there anyone who can listen to my bike and maybe help identify the noise and potetially also do the necessary adjustment on my valves?

Can you post a video with sound?

my blackberry may or may not have good enough sound to capture it. It's a rhythmic sound which leads me to believe it's a valve train issue as timing chains are known to be a bit noisy on SS bikes. This is not the normal timing chain noise I'm used to with my bike and it's been stalling quite easily a lot lately so I'm inclined to believe one is related to the other.

I'm a car mechanic but bike mechanic not so much. Give me brakes, chains, tires, oil changes, spark plugs, and some other stuff on a bike and no problem but I'm not about to mess around with the valve train system on my bike. I've seen what can happen to a car when timing is messed with and not set properly. Not something I want to happen to my bike. I would rather someone who has experience with valve adjustments do any adjustments necessary and take a look at the bike at the same time. Can anyone recommend someone/somewhere to take my bike for the necessary repairs.

bring it to rosey toes 416-241-2523 they can check the valve clearences and have the shims to adjust, the noise is your cam chain adjuster, all it might need is a carb sync. cell ted

sorry i meant injector sync anyway it could be a coil sparkplug cap breaking down, resistance should be the same on all 4 coils.
