The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

This one was a bit too close to home. I left campus a couple of hours before this one. https://www.cp24.com/local/toronto/2025/04/15/4-pedestrians-injured-in-downtown-toronto-hit-and-run-say-police/ For the record, the Mandela walkway is what Victoria Street becomes, in the area where it's...

I doubt they have anything of the sort. In fact I would be more than a little surprised if they have anything approaching brakes. It looked sort of like this...

I almost saw someone on one of those stupid single-wheelers get taken out, in SEATAC, when he jumped the gun on an advanced turn signal. Pity I didn't get it on my travel dashcam.

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Not really connected to this thread, but connected: I got to see "The Gamers: Dorkness Falls" from the inside. I was on-set, in Seattle, both on-camera and behind a (stills) camera. Even had an incredibly minor part and ONE line :ROFLMAO:. I sure hope they use the long shot, and not the swivel...

That would be them. Great fun movies and I agree that Malkovich chews the scenery.

Unfortunately, all too common. I got nailed like that, pre-Covid, when someone made a right turn from the left lane, on Yonge northbound at Queen, at something like 5:00am. That's a "no turning" intersection. He also tried to take off until he saw that my car wasn't disabled, and I was...

"... are required to turn out to the right." Ah, yes. The section of the HTA that cyclists love to pretend doesn't exist.

I feel like I need to hunt down the episodes of the "Twin Peaks" revival series, in honour of one of my Seattle friends who had a small part in it ('Hit and Run Mom'). Especially after she posted pics of revisiting the cafe in North Bend, Washington that has the "damned fine coffee", and my own...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

I am firmly of the opinion that everyone is a potential addict and most of us just haven't found the one thing that triggers it in us. I was lucky to find out, fairly early in life, that alcohol does it for me, though other substances also do. As a result I keep away from any intoxicants.

I was pretty specific in my qualifier, which doesn't apply to those other groups.

Every other employer isn't the government, which has the duty to try someone charged with a crime.

If you haven't watched his recent video about being threatened (again) with a lawsuit by a SovCit, it's well worth the time.

Several people have said to me that the big scene in the desert was exactly how they pictured it, from reading the books.and praised how they handled Rand's thing in particular. EDIT - Being purposely vague so I don't spoil any of it, if you're not there (S3E4) by the time that you read this ;)

Far better than the previous seasons and I'm hearing a lot of praise for it, from people who read the books.

Just be careful of all the people who are coming all the way over from the left to exit at Dixie Road, at the last second ;)

Because of this you can frequently do 100+ in the right lane on 401, between 427 and Dixie, while all the other lanes are 60-.

Nope, that's from "Planet Earth", by Gene Roddenberry. He tried pitching this one twice, with made for TV movies as pilots. It didn't get made, until after his death, as "Andromeda" starring Kevin Sorbo ;) EDIT - I just checked and the whole "Planet Earth" movie is available on Youtube. Here's...
