I was in the similar situation as you, got rid of my s model 400 because it was too tall for me, picked up a older xl 250 then a nx 250, loved them both but they just didnt have enough power. I now have a Drz SM and I am very happy with it.

Picked up a 1985 Honda and called TD insurance to find out that they dont insure bikes that are 30 years or older, any suggestions off hand. Thanks

How important is it on a duel sport, bike is being riden mosty back roads and trails. The reason I ask is because the bike shops around here want 50 bucks to mount a tire.

I would like to replace the sprockets on this bike and was wondering how the different sizes will affect it but there is very limited info on this bike. Its a 1985 and as it turns out they only made the 350R in 84 and 85 go figure.
