How crucial is education in the real world?

I haven't graduated from university but have been to college twice. The first time was back in the early nineties as an apprentice mechanic. It was a couple months for three years to get my inter-provincial license. I worked in that trade for ten years. I got bored with wrenching on cars and...

    Stocks

I'm staying in long with Canopy, Aurora and Aphria. With the Diageo rumours and Aphria divesting from LHS I think Aphria might have a good run ahead of them. While the weed sector is volatile I am up week over week.

    Ramano Fenati

There's a reason that some racers clevis pin the kill switch. I'm not comparing hitting a kill switch to applying the brakes but this sort of thing has happened for years.

Anyone been fired as a customer from mechanic?

I fired a few customers when I was a mechanic, found the aggravation vs reward wasn't worth it with some people. I guess Ace Moto felt similar in this situation and rightly so based on your post.

Do people really fall for this... LOL

I received the same email last week. The part that made me think for a second was that the password in the email I received was actually one I have used in the past. It looks like this ransomware email is using an old credentials dump from a hacked site to make itself look more convincing.

    Cops on Bicycles behaving badly

My parents live on a street just off 15th sideroad in Milton which is popular for both cyclists and motorcyclists. Every Saturday and Sunday in the warmer months there are cyclists out on that road blocking traffic. Yes - blocking traffic they are riding 20 km's below the limit and riding 3 or 4...

    Ownership and Insurance papers?

Maybe Max doesn't want to carry a European man bag.

    Ownership and Insurance papers?

I think you're right. I only receive a digital copy of my insurance slip for my car and don't have a colour printer. I'll take that chance and would argue in court about the officer wasting everyone's time. I have insurance and proof (not the pink colour though), this passes the reasonableness...

    Ownership and Insurance papers?

I have always kept a photocopy of both under the seat in a ziplock bag, just in case, as well as the originals in my wallet. This is the same OCD behavior as why I always travel with two passports.

    Will track tires pass safety?

Those tires (from the pics) will pass a safety as long as there aren't any cuts or cracks in the tires (I'm a licensed mechanic). I have run my own scrubs on the street and those look like they would clean up quickly from street use.

    3 Vehicle combination towing

I've done a lot of towing over the years, everything from a single snowmobile trailer to a loaded 9800 lbs toyhauler. This idea scares me, I wouldn't do it. The inability to see the rear trailer and how it's behaving behind the travel trailer would drive me nuts. I have seen welded platforms on...

New rider going to Racer 5 intro program?

Two years ago there was a gentleman taking Racer5 who had no experience riding a motorcycle. He didn't tell anyone and it was discovered when it was time to go out on the track he he didn't know how to use a clutch, he was stationary. I spent the rest of the morning teaching him the basics on...

    Where's my clutch lever?!?!

That guidance hasn't ever been provided to the mods so I'm not sure why you would have been told that.

Why to ALWAYS test ride a bike before buying it...

Once I have received the envelope of cash, I'll give the purchaser 10-15 mins to return the bike (in the exact condition it left in). There's the test ride and everyone is happy.

Liable for the sold bike in accident?

I didn't give him my plate. I still have and use that plate. The motorcycle had the plate and insurance removed and it left my house on a truck. I wrote him a safety for it so there was no reason it wasn't transferred.

Liable for the sold bike in accident?

Like I said, I got lucky. I think I could have probably been held liable for the outstanding towing / storage fees. I write a second bill of sale and have the purchaser sign it with their contact information.

Liable for the sold bike in accident?

25 years ago I sold a bike to someone I knew through work. He didn't change the ownership and a few months later he let a friend ride the bike who crashed and left the bike in a ditch. I got a call from the cops saying that they had found my bike. I explained I had sold it. Then about a year...

Yes I'm surprised, concealed carry of a poop is legal in Canada.

Sending e-transfer, is there a refund option?

It's along the same lines as when you receive a fraudulent credit card transaction. If you report it the bank will investigate and remove the charge. The bank will ask the recipient bank to place a hold on the funds until it's proven that there was or was not fraud involved. As the OP has noted...

Sending e-transfer, is there a refund option?

Contact the fraud department of your bank and explain what has happened. Banks can request reversals from other banks for wire transfers, interac transfers and deposits. As it's a small amount you'll have to plead your case of sorrow for them to put much effort into it as the reversal will be...
