    Reputable Carfax for Bikes?

Carfax.ca works fine for bikes. Even if the vin doesn't decode into a make/model (Most bikes will decode fine anyways) it will still search insurance, police and lien databases for anything associated with that vin.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I have one, happy to answer any questions you have.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Over 7000km I have averaged 29kwh/100km, it was at 28kw/h for the longest time but is creeping up with the cooler weather. For example this morning drive was just over 100km of back roads and it showed 33kwh/100km. Other then preconditioning it on the charger I don't really do anything to get...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I reserved it the first day you could last year. It's tough not to love. The thing I'm most impressed with has very little with it being a EV. The ride quality with independent rear suspension is significantly better then traditonal pick-ups with a straight axle. 775 ft/lbs of Torque is a ton...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

EV wouldn't be my choice of weapon for that. I have a Lightning that is EPA rated for just over 500km. I do a lot of highway driving (around 60% of my driving) and range is typically closer to 400km. Speed wise I would be on the quicker side of the flow of traffic...say 120-130 these days. I'm...

    COVID and the housing market

There is coverage for investment accounts but not CDIC it is CIPF. I don’t know much about it, I currently only have investment accounts from the big 5 banks and I don’t worry about them going out of business. Good to know and look into for someone using a smaller brokerage though.

New truck - Engine / Transmission issues. Going to argue for dealer to give me a new a truck - frustrated.

I know it’s pretty frustrating but they are going to want to try and repair it before even entertaining the idea of buying the truck back and getting you a new one. Talk to the GM or service manager at the originating dealer. They are more likely to give you a loaner (vehicle they own not a...

    Supernaked to Supermoto

I haven't had a chance to ride a 690 or 701 but I have had a DRZ, KTM 625 smc and KTM 450 EXC set up as a supermoto. Love them (well not the 625) but they aren't great as your only bike. I also had a 2014 Tuono which similar to you I could only really enjoy it at speeds that are really too fast...

Y'all might want to keep an eye out for change of plans. Stealth Covid BA.2

@Clutt-225 I forgot about joyride 150. Glad to hear they made it through Covid and are still operating. It’s probably been 3 years since I’ve been there but just a awesome facility that kids and adults both enjoy.

TFX International - Personal review, if any ?

For moving bikes not really. Thorsons transport is another local company at the same level of service as TFX. I haven’t used them but know people who do and I would be confident to ship with them. Not sure if they will do bikes though.

TFX International - Personal review, if any ?

I haven’t used them recently but have a number of times over the years for cars. They ship some very serious cars on a regular basis and I would be confident in handing pretty much anything over to them. They are pretty pricey though.

Advice for someone new to offroad motorcycling

Get a cheap Japanese dirt bike to practice with for a while before trying to ride off-road on a adventure bike. You will probably get back whatever you pay for it when your done. At 375lbs the 310gs is a lot of bike for a new off road rider to get around. Look into the OFTR (mostly simcoe...

    COVID and the housing market

I responded to you before. TFSA is full I can’t contribute more. So that is right out of play. Next January it will be full again once new contribution room is opened up.

    COVID and the housing market

TFSA is basically full. That was one of my first goals and it’s checked off. Otherwise I would probably do the same.

    COVID and the housing market

Correct, I’m paying the interest out of my regular income. It is all income producing so as I understand it I meet CRA criteria. I do not believe there is any type of payment schedule or how you use the income that the CRA requires.

    COVID and the housing market

I just started this as well with my HELOC a few months ago. I'm not planning on paying down the line. Instead I'm going to reinvest the dividends. There is a lot of room to go in my RRSP so how I see it for taxes is deduct HELOC interest from regular income, pay taxes on the dividend but put...

    Can-Am bikes are back!

BRP makes really good products. Their snowmobiles, watercraft and side by sides are all at the top of their segments or competing for top spot. Loaded with features, high performance, good build quality/fit and finish, reliability, a lot of well thought out accessories and a good dealer...

Best place to buy a Ducati?

If I’m selling I will take a customer standing in the showroom over a internet lead anytime. Most internet leads are a waste of time. Repeat buyers are a different story though.

    Stocks

HOU and VGRO aren't comparable even though they are both ETF's. HOU is a leveraged fund that is meant to be traded in and out of daily and carries significant risk that's geared towards traders not investors. It isn't a buy and hold. I don't understand it well enough to explain but if you're...
