You said it yourself, the qualified members rarely do offer advice. So then what's the point of a discussion forum if no one speaks up? I understand the point of giving misinformed advice. Then let's discuss and correct it, rather than give up and give in to noob bashing.
Probably because the noobs now are better informed than the noobs in 'the good old days'. That and because super sports are no longer as desirable as they used to be.

When practicing on a stationary motorcycle, engine off, you should hear an audible 'click' (or 'thwack') sound when you snap the throttle back to the closed position. If you can't hear the click, then you haven't fully closed the throttle.
- practice rolling off the throttle while simultaneous applying increasing front brake pressure (two finger)
- Practice in an empty parking lot going from second down into first. The other gears will be a breeze compared to that.
- the throttle blip/close throttle, downshift and clutch in/out...
I was kinda surprised MCRider called out Yammie Noob, but I guess it was relevant. Seemingly obvious tips, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to refresh over and over again.
Had quite a few people say 'nice bike' from their cars, with a couple of them wanting more details. That's about it.

Reasons: I like the casual, retro style. Easy to ride with some off-road capability. Light and maneuverable. Great in the city.

Only my second year riding, but I mostly ride in traffic. I don't find it so bad.
Of course it was scary the first few times, but I don't think there is any way to break the fear other than just doing it. Never been to the track, but I read a couple of David Hough books for safety strategy...
