how many bikers are in the GTA total?

Yep, #themotosocialtoronto is a good example. Here I am (in the yellow helmet) wondering where all these bikers are coming from LOL. (Pic by moto social organiser earlier this month)

how many bikers are in the GTA total?

I'm always amazed how many bikers show up to those things, yet in my daily commute, I see maybe 4-5 riders on the best of days.

New Riders...Start with a smaller bike!

And those that already just cruise around on the street, don't think you're pretentious - just more mature.

    Summer Jacket recommendations

+1 Best mesh jacket out there.

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

Fair enough. I tried a pack-jack once, kinda scared me LOL. I get enough 'excitement' using a rear stand by myself.

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

I'll try the no brush thing next time, thanks. I guess my point is that someone using your post as an example for dismissing the effects of salt on a motorcycle chain is probably missing the fact that you lube your chain a lot more than most riders and that you use a centre stand which makes...

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

@V-Tom, I read your post - and trying to figure out the the takeaway point... You lube your chain after every fill up and after it rains, effectively keeping it pretty clean (regardless of salt or not), no? I would suspect that's actually a lot more chain maintenance than most riders, myself...

This is the truth. Just common sense really.

    Buying a helmet

Not more than 3 or 4 hours, but it was fine for that. I found the GT Air got me sore before that, too snug after a while, even tried thinner cheek pads. I might try another Shoei sometime, like an RF1200, but with a transitions pinlock visor instead of a helmet with an internal visor.

    Buying a helmet

I have a Shoei GT Air - it was ok, but I didn't like how the tinted visor would fog up badly when cold, unlike the pin-lock clear outer visor, even with the breath deflector installed. Switched to an old school looking Bell Moto 3 with Ride 100% goggles and never looked back. Smaller, lighter...

    Waze adds Motorcycle Specific Navigation

I hope motorcycle HOV lanes are integrated well into the new algorithm. That would hopefully shave a few more minutes off my commute.

    Scramblerize it.....?

Well ok, Scramblers are cool and look good, but I think to compare them to full-on dirt bikes is missing the point. Sure they can do some off-roading, but also I think they make better city/commuting bikes than most street bikes, especially with all the construction and crap we see on GTA...

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

Roads looked at bit wet this morning, but was fine. A little rear wheel spin on one corner to wake me up.

Don't forget those SUV drivers who don't believe in winter tires, tailgating behind you.

I use ACF-50 myself. Pretty happy with it so far.

Well, if that's what you want to believe... (ok, aluminum corrodes)

No one actually ever said that.

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

Wash the bike. Clean and lube the chain if applicable/necessary. Brine is worse than salt when it comes to corrosion. If you care about your bike at all, be prepared to step up your maintenance game if you're riding in winter.

Yep, traffic was a dog's breakfast with the usual knuckleheads out there. Was glad to be on the trusty Scrambler this morning in any case. Stay safe. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
