Emissions and the future of motorcycles

Affordable personal eVTOL planes will be out by then. Most of my time will be spent with that. Group rides will be interesting.

New turbocharged V strom in the works

I hope Suzuki keeps the value going somehow with the added cost of a turbo, think I paid 8k for a new DL650 back in 2012. Still have it, still ride it. 60k on the OD with 0 costs for repair just regular maintenance. No issues in the rain, I do have a bash plate and a fender extender. If you...

Next Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday look very rideable. Going to hold off putting the toys away to see if that holds.

    Thinking about a Sena bluetooth

We all have old Sena's. I have a 10c, other rider 10c, other rider 10c plus, another rider smh10. Comms work well except distance isnt all that. hooks up well with all the phones, 1 Android and 3 Apple. I like the jog wheel. Wind noise is variable depending on helmet visor up/down and mic...

What's the used market like right now?

My son who normally spends money traveling, going to venues such as 3 day concerts, playing sports, going to hockey and baseball games had little time for motorcycles. Now that most of that is gone for now, him and his friends are all riding instead of the above, way more then they did before. I...

    I want one so bad

I have the 2017 version. This bike is very much on the sport side of sport touring. The panniers are rated at 160-170 kmph watched the video to see if they would fly off lol.

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

First ride today. Full gas tank was a 1.34/l from last year. Took a ride around Lake Simoe, speed limit is 40km. Packed my coffee in a thermos. Stopped once in a parking lot 50 yards from anyone. So no contact what so ever with anyone. However there were plenty of people walking in groups 4-10...

    Motorcycle Navigation

I use both because both have strengths and weaknesses. A Garmin Zumo 595 and Samsung Note 8. With Tasker my android phone is completely voice controlled so I never have to take my hands off the bars. Its less legible in sunlight and the temporary download for offline maps can be a pain if you...

    Waterproof Gear

Surprised Klim took it back, right in the washing instructions it states you are supposed to use DWR. You get the stuff from Amazon or Mec. There are spray on and Washing machine versions. A bottle lasts years. Link: Nikwax From Gortex website: DWR stands for “durable water repellent,” a thin...

    Waterproof Gear

Scorpion are the threads frayed or a tear? If not, do you reseal the Gortex after/during washing? I wash and reseal once every year just before riding season starts, both dryer application and spray when hanging.

    Waterproof Gear

Same story, by the time I stopped my bike and put the rain gear on I was already soaked so it would just stay stored. It was also instantly hot if in the middle of summer put it on early. I purchased Gortex Klim Badlands pants and jacket as well as Gortex Boots. Keep an eye out for late winter...

Earplugs But Still Hear Sena Music

80 bucks is a good deal. I payed double that going to the hearing center. If they are the same, the moto show is a better option.

Earplugs But Still Hear Sena Music

Went into our local hearing center and got some custom made silicone plugs specifically for listening to music in your helmet and blocking wind noise, but can hear traffic, motor etc.. They have a little canal running from the outside of the plug to the inside of your ear. They pour a mold of...

    Touring duds

I have Klim Badlands, amour it does not move around at all if the gear fits properly, the jacket/pants need to fit snug...ish. 3do Armour is not super thin, it does have some bulk to it, but is very flexible. Gortex is awsome, waterproof and breathing capabilities. When I used to use separate...

Sena SMH10 and Galaxy S7 voice commands

SMH10 should work great. I have the same set up but with a Note 3 and Note 8, been using it for years. You should be able to tap the "phone" button on the SMH10. This will bring up google Now. Say Listen To... (song, Playlist etc)or open google Music to start the player. Previous and next song...

LF: Tips on using Garmin Base camp

I just create in Google maps, import track into basecamp (GPX) and convert it to a route (reduce waypoints). Another cool thing is Google timeline which is in Google Maps (you have to turn set permission), if you bring your phone it will log your exact path you drove, when you started, when...

Hey. Be careful out there today

Great cross wind practice today when hitting the open farmers fields highway 11 North of Bradford. Always enjoy cars behind backing off when bikes are doing a 20 degree lean angle but going straight. Was great fun for the first ride of the year!
