A friend asked my opinion about the chinese Bickle warmers this past summer at the track, he kept tripping the fuse on his generator.
I put the set on a watt meter. The chinese Bickle have an initial draw of slightly over 1000 watts. Once they have warmed up the draw goes down to about 900...

There were a couple women that day with decent camera gear, but I don't believe they were photographers, they were just there with b/f or husbands who were riding

If no one (or just a couple of guys/girls) is passing you, and no one is riding your ***, then definitely bump up. Some guys like to be the big fish in a small pond, but being the slower guy in a faster session will help increase your skillset quicker.
Isn't the point of recording video in any sport so you can have unbiased visual proof of what you are doing at a certain place at a certain time, ***** the moment, search for improvement, than attempt to put the improvement into effect? Does the improvement have to be done that same day, can't...
I have Canon gear, although Nikon is just as good, and a friend mentioned to me that nikon lenses are less expensive for the higher-end ones than Canon. Do the research before starting to buy.
The camera body is good, but the real work is done by the lens. Unless you get into photoshop'ing...
