    Paddock stand.

Very cool. I saw a similar stand this year at a track day, manufactured by Bursig. I believe it's a bit more pricey but it fits a number of different bikes if you purchase the correct kit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QWlV_o0xb8A

And don't forget Ken Livingstone. Great guy, fantastic mechanic and *extremely* knowledgeable with all things Ducati.

    2007 Ducati S4RS - Buy or not?

I have an '04 S4R (the 996 engine) which is very similar to the 07 S4RS, but not quite as nice ;-). It's my daily commuter from Markham to downtown Toronto this year. My wife owned a Duc 695 which I frequently used, and I've also tried an S2R 800. But before the monster it has always been...

    46mm socket?

Ikan, Wingman - Yes, it's a Ducati.. an '04 S4R. The older Ducs use the 41/46 sockets for sprocket/rear axle nut removal. Whtlne, Torren - thank you both for offering to lend me the socket.. much appreciated. I've ordered one that should arrive in a few days so I'll wait for it.

    46mm socket?

Correct - the toolkit contains very few useful tools unfortunately. I just ordered one online (link to similar tool below, in case anyone else is looking). Hopefully it won't take more than a week or two to arrive. http://www.amazon.com/Ducati-46mm-41mm-Rear-Socket/dp/B005CW9TWG

    46mm socket?

Thanks - I didn't think of trying Sears.

    46mm socket?

I'll try Princess Auto and Napa, and then order it online if I can't find it locally.. but was wondering if anyone had one and was willing to rent it out for a day or two? I need it to remove the rear axle nut and was hoping to get my tires changed this week. Any help would greatly be...

    Selfish bike parking

You're welcome. I work across the street and park on Duncan every morning. The BMW was a lot heavier than I expected.. There's a gent who rides a white/blue/red CBR 125 and parked exactly where you parked. A Mercedes was blocked in between my bike and his... so the owner of the Merc decided...

Rattle can paint for race glass?

I think I can answer my own question. It looks like most have a peel and stick side.

Rattle can paint for race glass?

I have a some-what related question I'm hoping someone in this thread could help with... If you need to add heat shield mat to the inside of the lower fairing, what would you use to bind it? Is there a double sided heat resistant tape that's readily available.. or just some high heat resistant...

Are their duties on importing a Ducati from the US

It's not the border/CBSA that you'll have the problem with. In fact, they don't even need to see the recall letter. It's the RIV that requires it prior to granting the inspection form. I'm sure it's possible to forge the letter.. but that's not something I was willing to try.

Are their duties on importing a Ducati from the US

Yes and yes. It's only Ducati that does this I believe, although BMW does the same with their cars. Honda's letter is available by entering the VIN# online, or at least it use to be. Yamaha will email/fax/snail mail you the letter for free *IF* there are no outstanding recalls. Not sure...

Are their duties on importing a Ducati from the US

..unfortunately, times have changed. RIV will not issue you the inspection form without a copy of the Recall Clearance letter from Ducati North America, which can now only be obtained by a certified Canadian Ducati dealership. Don't take my word for it though. Call Ducati and/or the RIV and...

Are their duties on importing a Ducati from the US

Add $500 for the recall letter. In the past you were able to obtain the recall letter free from Ducati North America or a Ducati dealership. They no longer offer the recall letter to US dealers (as it's not required in the US), and it must be obtained from a Canadian dealership *after*...

What should I be aware of for my first track day..

..just finished my first track day, and thought it was time I re-contributed to this thread. First of all, if it's your first track day, definitely read over all of the good advice listed in this thread. Some additions : - ask around to figure out what tire pressure you should be running, and...

What should I be aware of for my first track day..

Thanks for the info. I found the following rules on the Riders Choice website, and for the most part they echo all of the advice given in the above posts.

What should I be aware of for my first track day..

Wow, just the thread I was looking for. Thanks for all the great info! A couple more questions for those who have gone through this before.. 1. For gear, would a 2 piece leather (360 zip connection) be fine, even though the jack has a bit of textile running along the arm and the side for some...
