Motorcycle Parking Fee 2015 – Response Coordination Thread

Many thanks to Face for all your work and continual follow-ups on this! I am a long time subscriber that only needed free street parking for the odd visit, but I just got a new job in Liberty Village so I will need parking daily. I see most people suggesting Atlantic Ave and Hanna Ave as the...

Anyone use Bose QuietComfort 20 while riding ?

Furthermore to your "common sense" ideaology, I'd liketo reccommend these: https://www.complyfoam.com/ Buy these tips, and put them on your favourite ear bud headphones (that allow replaceable tips), and you will essentially have earplugs with sound capability. i've been running this...

Looking for riders to ride with

*ding* I'm also interested in "spirited" rides, but compared to some folks here I am a turtle... I ride a naked SV650, so ain't no knuckle dragging here LOL I'm in the south-west corner of Brampton - maybe I'll catch you for a ride this season. There's a GTAM meet on Thursdays that meets near...

Is this the definition of a “Gixxer Brah”?

Dude's tryina get $4000 for it though: For some people that's a decent chunk of change. I think if my wife got pregnant today, I'd have to liquidate all my moto stuff for less than $3k, too LOL.

Alberta to allow turban-wearing Sikhs right to ride motorcycles without helmets

All amazing questions - and the answer is (IMO) simple: ALL INSURANCES should be customized and tailored to each. individual. person. Actuaries and insurance adjusters will continually work to analyze the risks of EVERYTHING, from smoking cigarettes, to working out, to having an active...

Alberta to allow turban-wearing Sikhs right to ride motorcycles without helmets

I can't tell if you're being facetious here or not, but THIS is the most true statement ever. We are coddling ourselves so much so that the weakest members of our species have a chance to survive, thrive and reproduce, when the reality of our existence is that if we didn't have these luxuries...

I help set rates for a Major Canadian Insurance Company! Some thoughts . . .

I didn’t suggest we get rid of OHIP? And I’m not sure I understand how it results in paying more taxes...? I’m saying we should itemize and customize insurance policies for every person. The insurance industry wouldn’t even lose any jobs; they’d need tons of adjusters! Imagine the paperwork...

Ex-girlfriend wants a piece of $6 million Lotto 6/49 win

See, the whole "half of everything I own" argument, was born from the fact that when a couple separates, the wife (or partner who earns less) has become accustomed to a certain lifestyle. She should probably be entitled to half of the stuff that they *currently* shared (right before the...

    Friday 13 this month

This is incorrect - I'm an extrovert by nature, however years of socializing with bikers have led me to believe that most of them are bat-****. The same is true for cyclists - cyclists tend to be more petty and cheap, and motorcyclists tend to be more chest pumping and douchey.

What are you getting at with this post? Are you trying to encourage people who hate crowds and don't enjoy walking around to go to a place where there are crowds and lots of walking and gawking to do? Do you need other people to be there that badly? I love everything about being on two-wheels...

New Chain time - DIY Help Needed!

Heyyyy sorry I missed this - I'm at steeles & mississauga road. Update: I bought the DID chain tool, and it is as fantastic as everyone claims. I pushed the master pins back out slightly, and riveted them on perfectly. It was a quick job, and although the master pins were clamped too far...

New Chain time - DIY Help Needed!

Update: Internet digging: http://www.didchain.com/PDF/DID%20Chain%20Tool%20Inst_150.pdf Read the last line on the last page highlighted in red. Stupid me had to go buy a lousy chain (that's definitely overkill for a 650!) that needs a "special" tool for riveting SOB

New Chain time - DIY Help Needed!

Yeah, I'm not sure how there wouldn't be enough room, though...? The side of the tool shown above is (was) the anvil, and on the opposite side there is a cup that seats onto the far side of the pin. So the tool is just compressing the pin; the only thing that should have given is the pin...

New Chain time - DIY Help Needed!

So, I tried this, and screwed it up. - Started by grinding the heads off the old master link pin, assembled the tool and broke the chain quite easily. - Then proceeded to clean the sprockets, and -most of- all surrounding areas - there was 60k worth of Motul Chain fling in there! it took...

New Chain time - DIY Help Needed!

WOW sooo cheap!! I really wanted the DID Chain Tool, but it's like $150, but zero complaints about it online. These motion pro ones are riddled with poor reviews, it'll be my first time with a chain, but if that tool doesnt fail when used properly, I think it'll be OK. Did you grind the pin...

Maybe I could order a DID 525 clip link while I wait for the chain breaker tool - anyone have experience with them? A close friend of mine swears by them
