    Battery Woes

haha, no definitely didn't install it backwards. ever. I actually attempted to start the bike twice last night; First time: took it off the tender, went to storage spot, installed battery, checked lights - all was good. Took about 45 mins to gear up, reassemble the seat, etc, pack tools away...

    Battery Woes

What would it be like during the summers if I had a bad regulator/rectifier? When I use the bike during riding season it never has any issues - starts up every time and is very reliable.

    Battery Woes

^ Thanks gents - I emailed Ace Moto Tech and Brampton Power Sports today to see what their pricing is like. I think I'd like to try an "AGM" battery this time, as they should be more durable. Looks like I should've checked the reviews before buying this ****ing POS...

    Battery Woes

No dice this morning. Okay so now I need recommendations: go back to Yuasa? Does Canadian Tire have good batteries? I've used Eliminators in two of my previous cars with great success... And lastly, how tf do I store it in winter? I was thinking of keeping it in the bike this time, and...

    Battery Woes

Nope - it and the tender sat on some boxes. 6-12" up from the floor Update: After I created this thread, I brought the battery back home and did a "high voltage" quick charge for 2 hours during the game (GO RAPS!!!) Took it back, put it in the bike and immediately started it up (earlier today...

    Battery Woes

Right! Several people have told me this too: no charger, no nothing - just let it sit in the bike all winter. So how is that different than removing it and letting sit at room temperature?

    Battery Woes

Just tried to start it up for the season and my battery won't start the bike - turns all the lights on, but not enough amperage to turn the motor over. Background: - I had a Yuasa battery for ~4 seasons, and I used to leave it in the bike and hook it up to a trickle charger when I stored it...

    20 Bay/ 88 Queens Quay Parking Notice

I feel you; motorcycling is definitely a more efficient means of travel from a time and fuel consumption perspective (hell, that's how I justify it, too!), but if (hypothetically) every 1-person car turned into a 1-person motorcycle in the GTA, our smog issues would be very similar, if not worse...

    26 Full M 6+ years experience

Try reducing your coverage to just liability, theft and fire only. I had to when I started riding, and I was your age! It'll make sure you ride REALLY defensively until you can afford full coverage. G/L

    20 Bay/ 88 Queens Quay Parking Notice

It's truly disappointing that people can't be more accepting of motorcycles, here. I agree with everything in terms of reducing congestion, and alleviating parking space as advantages of riding motorcycles, however motorcycles are NOT more "green" than cars. We pollute with less volume, but in...

    Colour wine?

LOL that's not ironic. I'm offering advise based on a particularly choosy wine drinker that I am close with. I would never claim to be a connoisseur, but I don't think you have to be in order to offer simple advice on what type of wine to bring to a party. Experience dictates that buying wine...

    Riding after a haircut?

Semi-joking!??!?! maaaaan all these people have been trying so hard to make solid recommendations! Executive Hair Design; Sheppard & Birchmount. All super old-school Italian guys, been going for almost 10 years. I think my dude will be retiring soon though :'( :)

    Riding after a haircut?

Dude, for $25, they better be giving you a wash too. My barber in Scarborough will give me a cut, wash and espresso for $20 :) I always gotta tell him "no hairgel" when I show up on the bike LOL

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

I'm not even going to read your post, because that's not what I was trying to say at all LOL I was just trying to dispute your point about a "driving instructor's" word as being gospel. I can't even count the number of times I've seen driving instructors poorly teaching students in their cars...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Aaaaaalllrighty then - but let's try to not mislead any would-be dinguses in there that might start to think that was a passing lane, mmmmkay? Read the posts again; we're not talking about crossing solid lines, we're talking about driving in the middle lane of a two-way road that has thick...
