Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

The reasoning given makes sense given the downturn in new car sales in the US, it's just pathetic that they ignore the international markets like Canada and Norway (for Ampera-e's that are just a couple of badges and switches different from the Bolt). Canada has a ton of outstanding orders with...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

The factory is shut down every summer for a break, that's not news. They have extended that break by a couple of weeks because the Sonic is not selling, just as they are doing with 3 other plants that are building vehicles they have too much inventory of. One article mentioned that they build...

I'll let you know once I get it. Still no idea when that will be.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I hope Tesla gets the Model 3 roll out right, but I went for the Bolt because I couldn't wait until late 2018 "at the earliest". Not that waiting 3 to 6 months for a Bolt is that great either, but if I had been able to pull the trigger a month earlier I would have it already. GM is really...

I guess I would since I ordered one.

The Opel Ampera-e (Chevy Volt) in Europe is rated at 500km. They have two different testing methods, one of which is heavily city biased and results in a much higher rating.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I'm definitely a Tesla fan, and hope they succeed, but I decided on the Bolt specifically because of two factors. 1. With a 373,000 unit waiting list and only a demonstrated production capacity of ~50,000 unit/yr, Tesla has a long way to go to fulfill those pre-orders. Their plant may...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I will definitely post up once I take delivery. Since it's replacing my '06 CTS-V (wife's daily driver for 80km commute) and I will be using it for my 140km daily commute instead of our '15 Colorado we'll be seeing a dramatic difference in costs. I'm expecting the savings in gas to almost cover...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Many thanks to PP and others in this thread who have provided great info. I put a deposit on a new Bolt over the weekend, delivery of a 2018 model sometime around Sept/Oct. Do they make an appropriate snow tire equivalent to the Eco tires?

Anybody know a good place to get a motorcycle safetied in Newmarket?

Maybe Edge Performance in Bradford? They've been good for other service for me.

Going from M1 to M2 after passing safety course?

It's not a problem, there is a grace period after the M1 expires, 30 days if I recall. You should still go as soon as possible after your course. They will issue you a temp paper M2 on the spot and mail out an updated plastic card. Whoever told you they engrave anything on the spot is delusional.

    Housing Market

Wasn't that way for the first 5+ years we were there. It was really only when there were events on, and that was only 2 or 3 times a week. The real issue is the massive increase in traffic from all the new buildings, and the roads can't handle it. Toronto dropped the ball 30+ years ago by...

    Housing Market

I lived in Cityplace for almost 10 years, sold last summer. Couldn't be happier to get out of there. In 10 years those buildings will be unaffordable as they are so poorly constructed the maintenance fees will be astronomical. I was in Apex, right on Front st. Thankfully it was well managed, but...

Power Cruisers (Victory Vegas, M109R, etc) - Options and Opinions

If you're willing to look at something a little older, try a Vulcan Meanstreak. I love mine. Doesn't quite have the power of the newer power cruisers, but handles better than many of them. You should be able to pick one up for way less than $8k.

    Tesla's Powerwall

Tesla's real purpose in putting out these things is to drive up the production at their new battery plant so they can improve their economies of scale and drive down the cost of the batteries. It's their stated long term strategy to lower the cost of the batteries so that the cars can be cheaper...

    Picking a mid-size cruiser - VTX, C90, V-star or Vulcan?

I switched from a sport touring bike to a '06 Vulcan Meanstreak 1600 two years ago. The Meanie is a bit of a different beast than the average cruiser. I find it very comfortable and it handles and brakes much better than the average cruiser. If you can find one it's worth a look.
