Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Just rolled over 30K on the Bolt, one month ahead of the 1 year mark. Almost 15K on the Volt and I think we may have filled up 4 times, but it is the car we use for longer trips so that's expected. And we all still have our bumpers!

I can confirm that while driving in heavy rain today the bumpers on both the Volt and the Bolt remained firmly attached.

This is going to cost somebody here some brain cells... https://insideevs.com/gm-teams-with-honda-to-develop-next-gen-advanced-battery/ All that terrible GM technology going to power Honda vehicles.

You seem to be the only person who thinks this is an issue. Taking 5 seconds to plug in the car in my garage sure beats freezing my *** off pumping gas for a couple of minutes in the winter. I don't miss that at all.

Your perspective really changes after driving and EV for a while doesn't it?

After reading that report from Edmunds I'm even happier that I got the Bolt and didn't wait for the Model 3. I've had a couple of glitches with the Bolt, but nothing that bad and after the latest software update (completed over the air) it's been much better.

You can get a new 2018 for that price after the rebate. Less than 2K on the odometer is crazy low for a 3 year old car though. Starts to make you worry about stuff deteriorating just from sitting.

It's a limitation of lithium ion batteries. Your phone and laptop will stop working at that temp as well. Remember that the batteries are based on a chemical reaction that is affected by temperature. At that temperature the chemical reaction just can't occur. The cars with proper battery temp...

    Ridgid cordless tools

Ridgid is made by TTI, who also makes Milwaukee, AEG, and Ryobi. Ridgid is essentially AEG rebranded for Home Depot/North America.

    Ridgid cordless tools

I have a bunch of Ridgid cordless stuff, and I'm very happy with all of it. It all works very well. Truthfully though, the only reason I went with Ridgid was because I got a steal of a deal on the first few drills/batteries that was too good to pass up. If that hadn't been the case I think I...

We just hit about 2500km on the Volt and finally had a longer trip that required mostly running on gas, from home to Bancroft and back. To date we've done 2484km with 2076km electric and an average mileage of 1.3l/100km. I expect that we'll probably only put gas in the Volt about 3 times a year...

You mean like a Bolt? ;) Give it time, three years from now the landscape will be massively different. Between all the mainstream manufacturers you'll probably be able to get just about any type of vehicle you want.

Easy mistake to make, it looks like a sedan, but is actually a hatch.

I didn't forget, I'd be paying the utility and delivery costs regardless of what I used the power for, but yes, the HST should be included. It's only meant to be a rough calculation. While the argument can certainly be made that there were other vehicles that we could have chosen that might have...

In my old truck I was getting about 11L/100km so it would have been around $2000. The CTS-V was getting around 14L/100km of premium so around $2700. For what we were spending in gas between the Colorado and CTS-V we now have two shiny new cars in the driveway and extra cash in our pockets every...

So I just passed 15,00km on the Bolt since we picked it up in mid October and according to the JuiceBox we used 3703kWh to charge it at home. All home charging was done at off peak rates. All other charging was done free at work or from free DCFC stations. So to drive the Bolt for 5.5 months and...

This is kudos for the leaf? "Another important point to come out of their tests was the Leaf’s important energy consumption in cold weather, as shown by the data above. It has always been a problem for the Leaf due to its rudimentary battery pack temperature control. It has always been a...

I can only comment on the Volt and Bolt, but the Bolt is easy for parking lot and fine maneuvering. The pedal is calibrated very well so even getting it inch along is very easy.
